Job Description

Decorative Art Restoration Assisstant Confidential Goodlettsville, TN 37072 $15
  • $18 an hour
  • Part-time, Contract $15
  • $18 an hour
  • Part-time, Contract Nashville based company is hiring for an entry level decorative art and antique restoration assistant.
You should have a working knowledge of hand tools and basic portable power tools (e.g. sanders, screwdriver/drills, air nailers, etc.) We are a small team of decorative artists with an excellent reputation. We provide high-end, high quality work, and we expect you to represent us well. In addition to working at our studio, you will also be asked to assist with pickup and deliveries at client sites. There is occasional heavy lifting involved in these pickups and deliveries, so it is vital that you are strong and sturdy. We value rapport with each other highly, as there are three of us working in not such a large space. Courtesy, a sense of humor, and an empathetic disposition are all important. A background in studio arts is helpful, as is familiarity with restoration technique, woodworking, and spray painting. However, we fully expect to train you in our methodology. Your ability to become a self starter will serve you very well in this position.

Responsibilities will include cleaning surfaces, stripping finishes, sanding and prepping, assisting in repair, etc. While this is a contract position, we are not looking for "gig workers". You don't need to be passionate about antique restoration, but you do need to have a strong work ethic and an ability and willingness to follow instruction. It's OK if you don't know how; it's not OK if you don't try to learn how. Oh, and cell phone usage during working hours is strongly discouraged unless for emergencies. 30-35 hours per week. Starting pay $15-18 per hour. ```
