Job Description

Blue Ribbon Results Academy seeks a passionate and creative Aftercare Resource Teacher Assistant to join our team. This part-time position is an opportunity to inspire preschoolers and kindergarteners through engaging activities in art, music, and a foreign language (Spanish or French). The ideal candidate will foster a fun, educational, and nurturing environment where young learners can thrive during aftercare hours.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 2:00 - 6:00
PM Locations:
883 Norfolk Square Norfolk, VA 23502 Key Responsibilities Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate art, music, and language lessons that encourage creativity, self-expression, and curiosity. Facilitate hands-on learning experiences to introduce students to basic Spanish or French vocabulary and conversational phrases. Provide a safe and stimulating environment for children during aftercare hours. Support children in developing social skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork through group activities. Assist with transitions, snacks, and other daily routines to ensure a smooth aftercare experience. Collaborate with other staff members to align aftercare programming with the school's educational philosophy. Monitor and support children's safety and well-being at all times. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and daily activities. Qualifications A passion for working with young children and helping them grow in a supportive environment. Experience teaching or assisting with art, music, or a foreign language, preferably with children aged 3-6. Proficiency in Spanish or French is required; fluency is a plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage children effectively. A creative and energetic approach to teaching and childcare. A high school diploma is required; coursework or a degree in Early Childhood Education, Art, Music, or a related field is preferred. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
