Fair Oaks Ave. Madison, WI 53704 Starting $15/hr + tips ($10-$12/hour during training, $15/hour once completed with training). Additionally you are paid per mile driven. Average 5-12 hours/week Wine & Design, a leader in the paint-and-sip industry, is excited to need some fun, charismatic Art Instructors for our On Wheels events! Customers will follow your instruction while they paint on their own sketched canvases with acrylic paint. The ideal person for this job will have an outgoing, captivating personality, strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, positive attitude and the ability to work quickly and energetically with our team of artists, & business partners.
Shift Description:
5 to 6-hour shifts (1+ hour of prep, 2 hour class, 1+ hour of cleanup plus travel). On Wheels events could be any day but we are primarily looking for those with availability Thursday- Sunday. Our On wheels events happen at venues such as bars and restaurants in the Madison and surrounding area. Some opportunities for On Wheels and corporate Team Building events during weekdays as well. We typically do 1-2 On Wheels events per month. You will also be assigned to teach classes at our studio here in Madison. We do classes and private event at our studio every day of the week so the more availability you have the more classes you would be assigned, Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Re-creating & developing paintings to be taught in classes and used for promotional items Developing & executing detailed teaching methods Instructing customers during class in an energetic, clear and well-paced manner while encouraging creativity and creating a relaxed, fun atmosphere Assisting customers and staff member(s) to ensure smooth class flow and promote customer painting success through teamwork and positive attitude. Prepping and cleaning supplies before/after class. Driving supplies to different venues and setting up and take down of supplies.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to design and re-create quality, acrylic paintings in various painting styles Basic computer skills and internet knowledge (and have access to a the internet) Public Speaking or performance skills (comfortable speaking on a microphone) Time management and communication skills Flexibility with schedule-classes are typically assigned at least 1 month out, but sometimes classes are canceled a few days prior if there are no registrations, or you may be requested to teach a private party that wants to book (those are usually booked at least a couple weeks out).
Preferred Education/Experience:
College-level courses or Degree in Art or Design related field Some experience leading a group of people (classroom or otherwise) Experience in customer service Experience working in the service industry bar or restaurant-type setting.
