Job Description
About Us Delights of Christmas is now San Diego SociaLights. We create lighting experiences people remember - from incredible holiday displays to weddings, corporate events, and special occasions throughout San Diego. We're a family-owned lighting and event company with a close-knit team that takes pride in the details, works together, and has fun creating something our clients love. We're passionate about delivering high-quality work while building a workplace where employees can learn new skills, grow, and feel like a valued part of the team. Job Overview We're looking for one dependable person to join our crew starting August 1 . This is a full-time seasonal position that runs through February , with the opportunity to stay on year-round if it's a good fit for both of us. Unlike most holiday lighting jobs, you'll start before the busy Christmas season. During August through October, you'll help with event setups and takedowns, warehouse organization, loading trucks, prepping equipment, and whatever else needs to get done. Once the holiday season kicks off, you'll transition into installing Christmas lights and decor on homes and commercial properties. After the holidays, you'll help with lighting removals and continue supporting our event crew through February. No two days are exactly the same, and that's one of the things our team enjoys most! We're a family-owned business that believes in treating employees well, working hard, and having fun while we do it! We work together, help each other out, and take pride in creating some pretty awesome events and holiday displays around San Diego. What You'll Be Doing Helping set up and tear down events Loading and unloading trucks Organizing, cleaning, and maintaining the warehouse Labeling and preparing equipment for upcoming jobs Installing holiday lights and decor on residential and commercial properties Working on ladders and rooftops while following safe work practices Lifting, carrying, and moving equipment throughout the day Working as part of a crew to get jobs done efficiently What We Offer Starting pay of $21 - $23/hour DOE Full-time hours (around 40 hours each week) Overtime available during our busiest times OSHA certification provided during training (paid for by us) Opportunity to learn both the event and holiday lighting industries A fun, hardworking team that genuinely enjoys working together End-of-season team party after the holiday takedowns Opportunity for a permanent position after the season Schedule This position starts August 1 and runs through February . You'll typically work around 40 hours per week over 5 days , but no two weeks look exactly the same. Our schedule depends on event dates and installation projects, so flexibility is important. Some days may start early, while others won't begin until the afternoon. Event days often require returning later in the evening to help with breakdown after the event ends. Weekend work is common during our busy season, so your days off may vary from week to week. If you're someone who likes variety and doesn't mind a schedule that changes with the work, you'll fit in well with our team! What We're Looking For Valid driver's license Authorized to work in the U.S. Comfortable working on ladders and at heights Able to lift and carry equipment throughout the day Flexible availability, including some evenings and weekends Reliable, hardworking, and willing to jump in wherever needed Positive attitude and good teamwork If you're looking for a job where you'll stay busy, learn new skills, and be part of a team that enjoys what they do, we'd love to hear from you.
