POSITION SUMMARY
The Events Operations Associate is responsible for day-of planning, coordinating, and executing various events hosted by the Organization, with a primary focus on Family and Corporate Events. This role involves working closely with the Events team to ensure smooth logistics, manage event setup and breakdown, and provide excellent customer service to attendees. The Events Operations Associate will coordinate with vendors, manage event supplies and inventory, and perform operations duties during events. The position will report directly to the Event Sales Manager. ___________________________________________________________________
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Engage with clients to discuss rental needs and provide information on available spaces and services as needed for event operations (Audio/Visual [AV], tech support, etc.). Provide pre-event walkthroughs to determine the AV and tech support needs for the event, if requested by the Event Sales Manager. Engage with clients in person for booked events. Consult with clients on technical needs and logistics for their events. Maintain the highest standards in customer service, representing a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward visitors at all times. Interact with visitors directly and indirectly to create a welcoming environment. Handle conflicts that unexpectedly arise. Able to diffuse the situation effectively. Return AV and tech equipment to their proper location after each event. Promptly report AV and tech equipment issues, damage, or concerns to Event Sales Manager. Ensure all events comply with facility rules and regulations; monitor guest safety during events, and promptly address any issues that arise. In the absence of the Event Sales Manager, support the event team lead in the day-of coordination with external vendors, including caterers, decorators, and equipment suppliers, directing them on event days to ensure timely and efficient setup and service. Provide technical services to events upon request, including AV operations and technical support. Support CuriOdyssey's justice, equity, diversity, and inclusivity efforts and ensure the equitable treatment of all clients. Work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the Organization and be available to dependably see projects through to completion. Uphold all CuriOdyssey's policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards. Maintain flexibility and perform other duties as assigned to respond to the needs of the Organization, including running errands in support of events, meetings, and projects. Attendance and punctuality are essential to work and all work-related functions. ____________________________________________________________

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / CERTIFICATES / EXPERIENCE
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed above and any additional responsibilities as directed as well as satisfy the educational and skill requirements listed below: High school diploma or equivalent
GED. 2-5
years of related experience or training in event coordination, hospitality, and customer relations. Background in Audio/Visual Technology and Computer Systems is required. Previous experience working in a nonprofit or museum is a plus. ____________________________________________________________

COMPENSATION, SCHEDULE & BENEFITS
$25.00/hour This is a non-exempt position, intermittent, part-time starting June 12, 2026 or later . The general work schedule is 8 hours per day, typically Friday or Saturday, between the hours of 4pm-12:30am. Days of the week and start/end times may vary. All employees receive mandated benefits in the manner prescribed by law (e.g., Paid Sick Leave, Social Security, workers' compensation). However, as a temporary or intermittent/on-call or seasonal employee or apprentice, you are not eligible for any additional benefits (e.g., vacation, holidays, personal time, health insurance, etc.). ____________________________________________________________
