Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Senior AV/VTC (Audio-Visual/Video Teleconferencing) Technician to lead the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex audiovisual and video conferencing systems across diverse environments. In this role, you will leverage your extensive technical expertise to ensure seamless AV experiences for clients and end-users. Your proactive approach and strong customer service skills will drive successful project execution, system reliability, and user satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on live event AV productions, control system programming, and networked AV solutions in a fast-paced, innovative setting. Duties Lead the installation, configuration, and commissioning of AV systems including video conferencing platforms, digital signal processing equipment, and control systems. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues related to audio, video, control systems, and computer hardware swiftly to minimize downtime. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams related to AV system design and installation. Program and optimize audiovisual control systems using industry-standard software to enhance user interfaces and operational efficiency. Perform routine maintenance on AV equipment such as cabling, mechanical components, and electronic devices to ensure peak performance. Support live event AV production projects by setting up equipment, managing signal flow, and troubleshooting on-site technical issues. Collaborate with clients and team members to deliver exceptional customer service by providing technical guidance and training on AV system operation. Required Qualifications At least 10 years of professional AV/VTC experience supporting an environment comparable in size and complexity to EEOC. Experience supporting AV/VTC operations across geographically dispersed offices or multiple facilities. Advanced hands-on experience configuring, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise audiovisual and video conferencing systems. Experience with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco Webex, Poly RealPresence, or comparable enterprise collaboration platforms. Experience supporting executive meetings, live events, webinars, webcasts, conferences, training sessions, and hybrid events. Working knowledge of cameras, microphones, audio mixers, video switchers, codecs, DSPs, control systems, displays, recording systems, streaming platforms, and presentation technologies. Experience diagnosing audio, video, network-connectivity, codec, hardware, software, and interoperability issues. Experience performing preventive maintenance, firmware upgrades, equipment inspections, and lifecycle-management activities. Experience documenting incidents, service requests, maintenance activities, technical findings, and resolutions in a ticketing or service-management system. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer-service skills and the ability to remain composed during high-profile or time-sensitive events. Ability to work full time onsite at EEOC Headquarters in Washington DC. Ability to support occasional evening, weekend, or after-hours events. Ability to travel within the United States when required. Must currently possess or be able to favorably complete the required full-field five-year employment background investigation, normally initiated through an SF-85P. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting a Federal agency, executive communications operation, or similarly regulated enterprise. Experience supporting conference rooms, executive briefing facilities, public-address systems, hearing rooms, training facilities, and collaboration spaces. Experience with AV-over-IP technologies and supporting network infrastructure. Experience with Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Q-SYS, Dante, Blackmagic, Poly, Cisco, or comparable technologies. Experience with live video switching, audio mixing, camera operation, recording, streaming, and event production. Experience supporting accessible meetings, open or closed captioning, and Section 508 requirements. Familiarity with ITIL incident, request, problem, change, configuration, and knowledge-management practices. CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D, Dante, Q-SYS, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Microsoft, Cisco, Poly, or comparable technical certification.
