Position:
The Technology & AV Support Specialist is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support to staff, ensuring the reliability and availability of end-user technology, and supporting the organization's core IT systems. This position serves as the primary Tier 1-2 support resource and plays a critical role in managing and supporting the organization's audiovisual (AV) and conference room technology. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, highly organized, and comfortable supporting both IT and AV needs, helping to ensure that meetings, presentations, events, and day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position works closely with the IT Manager and is essential to maintaining excellent service, operational continuity, and a positive technology experience for staff.
What You Will Be Doing:
Serve as the organization's primary resource for audiovisual (AV) support, ensuring meeting and event technology is reliable, functional, and user-friendly. Manage and maintain conference room audiovisual systems, including displays, projectors, microphones, speakers, and video conferencing technology. Set up, test, and troubleshoot AV equipment for meetings, presentations, trainings, board meetings, and events. Provide hands-on technical support during meetings and presentations to ensure a seamless experience for staff, volunteers, and guests. Support and troubleshoot video conferencing platforms, including Microsoft Teams and Zoom. Serve as the first point of contact for IT-related requests and incidents; log, track, prioritize, and resolve tickets through the organization's ticketing system. Provide technical support for laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, and common business applications. Install, configure, and deploy hardware and software for new and existing staff, including onboarding support. Assist with user account administration, including email, permissions, security groups, and access management under the direction of the IT Manager. Provide front-line support for Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint. Work closely with the IT Manager to perform routine system maintenance, updates, patching, and basic security checks. Maintain accurate inventory of IT hardware, software licenses, and assigned equipment. Escalate complex or high-impact issues to the IT Manager in a timely and well-documented manner. Document solutions, procedures, and support activities to promote consistency and knowledge sharing. What You Need to
Succeed:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in an IT support, help desk, AV support, or similar technology support role. Hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting audiovisual (AV) technology, including conference room systems, video conferencing platforms, and presentation technology, is required. Strong working knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems and common office productivity tools. Experience working within a ticketing system and following established support and escalation processes. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration and collaboration tools, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint. Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users. Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems effectively, and work independently while collaborating with others.
Preferred Skills:
Experience supporting Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or similar conferencing technologies. Experience with conference room technology, digital displays, and hybrid meeting environments. Basic understanding of networking concepts, endpoint management, and cybersecurity best practices. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Fundamentals, or similar technical credentials are a plus.
Working Conditions:
This position may require occasional evening or weekend support for meetings, events, maintenance activities, or urgent technology issues.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
