Are you interested in audio, video, smart home systems, networking, lighting, security, and automation? The Stereo Shoppe is looking for an Audio/Video & Smart Home Technology Technician to join our team in Boise. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys technology, takes pride in quality work, and wants to build a long-term career in a growing industry. Our projects are different every day and include custom audio/video systems, home automation, distributed audio, networking, lighting control, security, and entertainment systems for residential and small commercial clients. What You Will Do We are looking for someone who wants to be part of a team that cares about doing things the right way . As part of our installation team, you will help create technology systems that make homes and businesses easier to use, more enjoyable, and better connected.
  • Install and set up audio/video equipment
  • Build, place, and organize equipment racks
  • Run low-voltage wire, cabling, and pre-wire on new construction and retrofit projects
  • Install and connect audio/video routing equipment, processors, control systems, and related components
  • Assist with Control4 and other smart home technology systems
  • Keep job sites, tools, materials, and company vehicles clean , organized , and professional
  • Maintain inventory and properly handle installation materials and supplies
  • Label wires, document systems, and help keep projects organized
  • Follow project directions and documentation through our company-wide platform
  • Provide excellent customer service in clients' homes and businesses
  • Learn new products, installation methods, and industry best practices
  • Work approximately 40 hours per week with some overtime as needed
  • Very occasional overnight travel to surrounding areas may be required What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is dependable, professional, detail-oriented, and enjoys being part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and ability to contribute well to a team
  • Experience with low-voltage wiring and installation
  • Technical experience with Control4
  • Comfortable using hand tools and power tools safely
  • Good mechanical ability and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with your hands and understand basic construction concepts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to ask good questions and follow through on tasks
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently when needed
  • Willingness to learn new technology and grow with the company
  • Comfortable with Windows and iOS devices
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Pay:
$18.00-$31.00 per hour
  • Low-voltage experience: 1 year preferred
  • Ability to commute to Boise, ID 83709 required
  • Ability to relocate to Boise, ID 83709 before starting work preferred
