Program Lead, AV Support Strategic Planning

at Uber in Chicago, Illinois, United States Job Description About the Role The Global Community Operations organization provides support to Uber customers and various partners. As autonomous vehicles (AVs) become an increasingly important part of our offering, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Strategic Planning Associate to help manage the operational rhythm and planning efforts for AV Support. This role will be critical in leading key planning cadences, driving workforce and financial tracking, and informing agent strategy decisions. You will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Product, and Community Operations to build scalable mechanisms that guide investments, headcount strategy, and performance tracking across AV Support verticals including Rider/Eater Support, Remote Vehicle Assistance, and Field Support Operations. This role sits at the intersection of financial rigor and strategic judgment - you will build and defend the operating plan, own headcount and budget forecasting, and advise on how our support network should evolve. This is not a traditional FP&A role, the right candidate brings strong financial foundations alongside the ability to form and influence business strategy. What You Will Do 1.

Lead Strategic Planning Cadences:

Act as the point of contact for AV Support's mid-year and annual planning cycles, owning financial and operational components such as headcount forecasts, OKRs, and investment asks. Lead ad hoc strategic investment decisions to inform high-impact decisions in a rapidly evolving space 2.

Workforce and Budget Management:

Own headcount planning and forecasting across Mobility CX, Delivery CX, Remote Assistance, and Field Support Ops. Track actuals vs plan and proactively flag risks and actionable recommendations. Develop cost models across support functions, including labor, vendor spend, and infrastructure investments. 3.

Lead Agent Network Strategy:

Manage our network strategy - leading initiatives focused on agent footprint strategy, channel mix, automation, and enablement priorities across key functions. Build our long-term roadmap, ensuring alignment between our network strategy and evolving AV operational needs. 4.

Define Performance Targets & Enable Decisions:

Set targets and measure performance across key support metrics - ensuring robust, defensible planning assumptions and methodologies. Build executive-ready narratives translating operational plans into clear business insights. 5.

Partner Cross-Functionally:

Collaborate with Finance, Ops, and CommOps to align on headcount, budget, and operational strategy. Basic Qualifications 1. 5+ years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, corporate strategy, or management consulting 2. Bachelor's degree Preferred Qualifications 1. High proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and ability to work with large data sets 2. Strong track record in customer experience strategy or sales 3. Experience with financial and headcount planning, preferably in a support operations or tech environment 4. Proven experience in working with diverse set of functions and stakeholders in complex organizational settings 5. Strong analytical and organizational skills with experience managing planning or reporting processes 6. Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities 7. Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to use data to develop strategies and make decisions quickly 8. Prior exposure to autonomous vehicle programs or similar high-innovation spaces 9. Strong communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting data & insights to senior audiences 10. SQL proficiency is a plus For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $146,000 per year - USD $162,000 per year. For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $162,000 per year - USD $180,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $162,000 per year - USD $180,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp.
