Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Audio Engineer reports directly to the Manager of Event Technology and is responsible for professional sound engineering and technician training.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The employee in this position will have the following essential job functions: Provides professional front-of-house mixing for all major events on campus Facilitates audio systems upgrades Implements high level audio training for part-time technicians and oversees performance of part-time technicians during events Provides production leadership for major event setups including mic placement and sound check pace and schedule Maintains industry standard audio capabilities for all event spaces on campus Assists Manager of Event Technology in equipment maintenance and systems troubleshooting Operates sound systems and performs setups for various events on campus Operates and/or sets up media equipment for clients Records video and audio Reports equipment problems and issues to supervisor Assists with equipment installation and other office projects Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
EDUCATION
The person in this position should have previous experience in audio and video production.
EXPERIENCE
The person in this position should have at least one year of experience in professional sound design and engineering, specifically front-of-house mixing.
SUPERVISION
The person in this position will supervise part-time Audio/Visual Technicians as necessary. The person in this position will report to the Manager of Event Technology.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The person in this position will work in all event spaces and auditoriums on campus as well as off-campus event venues as needed.
EQUIPMENT
The person in this position will use the following equipment: professional audio/visual equipment standard to event spaces on campus.
