Installer/Technician

Job Overview Level Up Automation of Montana is a custom integration firm based in Missoula specializing in home automation, audio/video, structured networking, lighting control, and security camera systems. Most of our work is custom residential and light commercial — but we'll take the easy ones too. We're looking for a technician who moves fast, thinks on their feet, takes pride in the quality of their work, and wants to grow in a skilled trade. We will train the right person. What we can't teach is work ethic, attention to detail, and the drive to do things right the first time. Responsibilities Install and terminate low-voltage cabling (CAT6, speaker wire, HDMI, fiber) in new construction and retrofit environments Mount and configure AV equipment including TVs, projectors, amplifiers, speakers, and control systems Install and commission Wi-Fi networks, managed switches, and structured wiring Set up and configure IP security cameras and NVR/NAS systems Assist with lighting control and shade system installations Follow rack wiring and cable management standards — neat work is non-negotiable Troubleshoot issues and communicate clearly with the lead technician and clients Represent the company professionally on every job site What We're Looking For Someone who moves fast and thinks faster — you figure things out, you don't wait to be told twice Results-driven with a genuine attention to detail — you're not done until it's done right Willing to learn and eager to develop real skills in a specialized trade Comfortable with hand tools, power tools, fish tape, and working in attics/crawl spaces Reliable, on time, and professional in clients' homes Valid driver's license and clean background check required Experience That Will Increase Your Starting Pay Prior experience in any of the following moves you up the pay scale: Low-voltage installation — AV, networking, security cameras, or similar Control4, URC, Lutron, Sonos, Ubiquiti, or Alta Labs Basic networking (IP addressing, VLANs) CEDIA or other low-voltage certifications What We Offer Missoula, MT — 10 to 40 hours per week as we continue to grow Competitive pay based on experience — higher starting rate for relevant skills Hands-on training in premium smart home and AV systems We pay for certifications for the right candidate — and every certification earned comes with a pay increase Small team where your work and growth actually matter
