Commercial Audio Visual (AV) Installation / Low Voltage / Technology Infrastructure Job Overview We are actively seeking a Lead Commercial Audio Visual (AV) Technician with 5+ years of experience in commercial AV installations to join our growing field team in the New York Tri-State area. This is a hands-on leadership role for a skilled AV Installer / Low Voltage Technician / AV Systems Specialist with experience in permanent commercial installations such as:

Conference Rooms & Boardrooms Corporate Offices Classrooms & Educational Facilities Digital Signage Systems Video Walls & Control Systems Important:

This role is strictly for commercial AV installation. No live events, broadcast, or studio production experience will be considered. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of AV Technicians / Low Voltage Installers on commercial job sites Install, configure, and troubleshoot audio visual systems, including displays, projectors, speakers, microphones, cameras, and control systems Manage low voltage cabling installations (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optics, coaxial, control wiring) Perform cable termination (crimping, soldering, splicing) Build and install equipment racks and AV infrastructure Interpret and execute based on construction drawings, AV schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams Conduct AV system testing, quality control, and commissioning Troubleshoot AV systems, control systems, and network-related issues Maintain project timelines, inventory, and installation standards Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and internal teams Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA safety standards Required Qualifications 5+ years of commercial AV installation experience (MUST) Strong background in low voltage systems, structured cabling, and AV integration Experience with: Displays, projectors, video walls Audio systems (speakers, microphones, DSPs) AV control systems Proficiency in: Reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings Cable installation & termination (Cat5/6, coax, speaker wire, fiber optics) Hands-on experience with tools, installation hardware, and AV mounting systems Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Basic computer and networking knowledge Excellent communication, organization, and leadership ability Required Certifications OSHA 30 Certification (Required) SST Certification (Required for NYC job sites) Preferred Certifications (Highly Valued for Ranking & Hiring) Crestron Certification Extron Certification Biamp Certification QSC Certification Dante Certification (Audio Networking) AVIXA CTS or advanced training Fiber Optic / Low Voltage Certifications Technical Skills (SEO Keywords for Indeed Ranking) Commercial AV Installation Audio Visual Technician AV Systems Integration Low Voltage Technician Structured Cabling (Cat5, Cat6, Fiber Optic) AV Rack Fabrication AV Commissioning & Testing Control Systems (Crestron, Extron, QSC, Biamp) Digital Signage Installation Video Wall Installation Networked AV Systems What We're Looking For We're looking for a leader in the field—someone who can: Take ownership of projects Lead crews with confidence Solve problems on-site Deliver clean, high-quality installations Represent the company professionally with clients Why Join Us Steady pipeline of commercial AV projects Opportunity to work with high-end AV technology and systems Growth into Project Manager / Senior AV Engineer roles Work with a professional, skilled, and motivated team Apply Today If you're a Commercial AV Technician, Low Voltage Installer, or AV Systems Specialist ready to step into a leadership role, we want to hear from you.
