AV Technician — Showroom TV Cabling & Playback Setup
Location:
Manhattan, NY — on-site

Within the next 2 weeks — flexible scheduling About the Project An apparel and lifestyle brand needs help with AV setup at their Manhattan showroom. We need an experienced AV technician for a focused one-day install to make sure the showroom is presentation-ready and reliable for client meetings. Scope of Work
  • Audit and confirm all 4-6 showroom TVs are correctly hooked up and functioning
  • Ensure each TV has the correct cabling (HDMI, USB, adapters) available and accessible for guests to plug in laptops and run presentations
  • Confirm and configure USB thumb drive playback on each TV — each display will loop a separate video file directly from a USB drive
  • Test video playback quality, aspect ratio, and audio routing on each display
  • Clean up cable management as needed
  • Provide a short walkthrough so the on-site team can swap thumb drives and switch sources independently
  • Troubleshoot any signal, resolution, or playback issues on the spot Requirements
  • 3+ years of hands-on AV experience (showrooms, corporate offices, retail, or events)
  • Solid working knowledge of
HDMI, USB
media playback, and common adapter ecosystems (USB-C, Mini DisplayPort, Lightning, etc.)
  • Comfortable troubleshooting display compatibility, resolution mismatches, and codec issues with USB playback
  • Able to work independently and finish on a tight timeline
  • Own basic tools; we will cover any specialty gear or adapters needed
  • Professional appearance and communication — you'll be on-site at a corporate showroom Bonus Points
  • Experience with digital signage or looping video playback setups
  • Familiarity with brand showrooms, retail flagship, or buyer-meeting environments
  • Comfortable advising on small upgrades (media players, signal extenders) if helpful To Apply Please share:
