Audio/Video Installation Assistant / Technician (Part-Time / Seasonal)
Location:
Plainview, NY ( On-Site / Field Work )
Schedule:
Part-Time (On average 2-3 days per week; hours will scale up heading into the holiday season)
Pay Rate:
$40.00 - $50.00+ per hour (Commensurate with experience and technical knowledge)
Position Type:
Temporary / Contract (With potential for long-term placement for the right fit) Position Overview Our client is seeking a skilled Audio/Video Installation Assistant / Technician to support residential and commercial AV system installations across the Long Island and New York metropolitan area. This is a flexible, part-time position starting at 2-3 days per week with increased hours expected leading into the holiday season. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with audio/video equipment, low-voltage wiring, or system integration and is ready to hit the ground running alongside lead technicians. Key Responsibilities Assist lead technicians with the installation, setup, and mounting of residential and commercial audio, video, and control equipment. Handle physical installation tasks, including running cables, dressing racks, mounting displays/speakers, and assembling hardware. Assist with basic system testing, signal path verification, and post-installation cleanup. Maintain organized tools, hardware, and equipment on job sites and in service vehicles. Follow all site safety protocols and deliver professional customer service while working in client environments.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Prior experience or background knowledge in audio/video equipment installation, low-voltage wiring, electrical assistance, or field service.
Technical Aptitude:
Comfortable working with basic power tools, hand tools, cabling, and AV connectivity.
Flexibility:
Ability to work 2-3 days per week initially, with open availability for additional hours as job volume increases toward the holidays.
Background Check:
Candidate must successfully clear a background check prior to placement.
Reliability:
Strong work ethic, punctual, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Compensation / Pay
Rate (Up to): $40.00 - $55.00
