Audio Visual Technician (Entry - Level) New Life Fellowship - 4.3 Arlington, TX Job Details Part-time $18,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Some college Computer operation Volunteer management Event audio equipment operation Equipment troubleshooting Adobe Premiere Pro Social media platforms Filmmaking equipment Equipment maintenance Leadership Entry level Full Job Description The Audio/Visual Technician (Entry‑Level / Part‑Time) supports the church's worship and ministries by assisting with audio, video, and lighting for live and streamed services and events. This role is ideal for college students or those beginning a career in production who want hands‑on experience, training, and mentorship. You'll learn multi‑camera operation, basic lighting and sound, editing, and live streaming while working with a supportive technical team. Key responsibilities (varies by schedule; not all duties weekly) Operate cameras and assist with multi‑camera shoots for weekend services and special events. Help set up and operate live stream workflows and basic switcher/graphics functions (ProPresenter 7).
Support lighting and stage setup:
focus, hang, and implement simple lighting looks under supervision. Assist with sound checks, microphone setup, and monitor audio during services; learn front‑of‑house and streaming mix basics. Record footage and edit short videos using Adobe Creative Suite for social media and internal use (training provided). Participate in technical rehearsals and receive coaching from the Technical Director. Help maintain and organize equipment; report issues and assist with basic troubleshooting. Train with and support volunteer teams; learn how to lead volunteers over time. Qualifications (entry‑level) Follower of Christ and growing in Christian disciplines. Interest in video, audio, or lighting production; willingness to learn technical skills. Basic familiarity with cameras, audio, or lighting is helpful but not required. Comfortable using computers and learning software (ProPresenter, Adobe Premiere, etc.). Dependable, punctual, team‑oriented, and open to feedback and mentorship. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. for equipment setup. Training & development On‑the‑job training by the Technical Director and experienced volunteers. Opportunity to develop technical skills across cameras, sound, lighting, and editing.
Flexible progression:
take on more responsibility and leadership of volunteers as experience grows. Schedule & time commitment Part‑time (20-25 hours/week), flexible to accommodate class schedules.
Typical blocks:
Thursday 2:00pm-9:00pm, Saturday 2:45pm-6:30pm, Sunday 6:45am-1:15pm (times may be adjusted for students). Additional hours for special events may be optional or scheduled in advance. Supervisor & team Reports to the Director of Technical Arts. Works alongside paid staff and volunteer teams; strong mentorship focus. Compensation & logistics Annual salary: $18,000 (part‑time, 20-25 hours/week). End of year performance based bonus. Equipment and software access provided. Participation in occasional staff outings and team‑building events. Other notes Background check required upon hire. Membership at New Life Fellowship is recommended but not required.
