Role Description The Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Austin, TX. This position is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining multimedia, audio/video, security, and automation systems at residential and commercial client sites. Day-to-day tasks include running and terminating structured cabling, mounting and wiring equipment, performing system testing and troubleshooting, and ensuring clean, orderly installations that meet company standards. The Technician will interact with clients on-site to explain system features, address basic questions, and coordinate with project managers and other team members to complete jobs on schedule. The role also involves documenting work performed, maintaining tools and inventory, and following safety procedures and company policies. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong technical skills related to installation and maintenance of multimedia, audio/video, security, and automation systems. Candidates should possess skills in handling structured cabling, including pulling cable, termination, labeling, and basic network connectivity. Candidates should possess troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose equipment, connectivity, and configuration issues on-site. Candidates should possess clear communication and customer service skills to work professionally with clients and teammates. Candidates should possess time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation. Relevant experience in low-voltage, AV, or security system installation, or a related technical trade, is beneficial. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; technical certifications or vocational training in electronics, networking, or AV/security are a plus. Ability to work on-site in various residential and commercial environments, lift and carry equipment, and adhere to safety standards is required. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites in the Austin, TX area are beneficial.
