IT delivers enterprise AV, IT, and low-voltage deployment services for some of the world's leading technology companies and commercial organizations. We are seeking an experienced AV Tech Lead to oversee field installations, lead technical crews, and ensure successful execution of complex AV deployments. This position is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who enjoys managing teams while remaining actively involved in installation, troubleshooting, commissioning, and quality control. Position Overview The AV Lead Technician is responsible for supervising technicians on-site, coordinating daily installation activities, actively performing hands-on installation work, validating quality standards, and serving as a primary technical point of contact during project execution. This is a hands-on field leadership role. The AV Lead Technician is expected to actively perform installation work while leading and supervising the field crew. The AV Lead Technician is also responsible for maintaining clear and timely communication with the assigned Project Manager, including providing daily progress reports or updates at the frequency required by the project. Responsibilities Lead and supervise AV installation teams on commercial and enterprise projects. Coordinate daily field activities, manpower allocation, and installation schedules. Review project drawings, scopes of work, and installation requirements. Perform hands-on installation, configuration, troubleshooting, commissioning, and system integration of AV systems, including displays, cameras, speakers, microphones, DSPs, control systems, and related equipment. Maintain regular communication with the assigned Project Manager and provide daily progress reports or project updates at the frequency required by the project. Oversee and execute rack builds, structured cabling, equipment mounting, and system integration. Perform quality control inspections and ensure compliance with project standards. Communicate and coordinate directly with the assigned Project Manager, Engineers, clients, General Contractors, and other trades to support successful project execution. Manage field documentation, punch lists, and project updates. Support commissioning, testing, and system validation activities. Ensure all safety requirements and jobsite protocols are followed. Mentor and develop junior technicians. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in Commercial AV, Low Voltage, Systems Integration, or related field. Proven experience leading installation crews. Strong knowledge of structured cabling, rack builds, equipment mounting, and AV infrastructure. Experience interpreting construction drawings, AV schematics, and floor plans. Experience troubleshooting complex AV systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and make decisions in the field. •30 Dante Level 2 or Level 3 Q-SYS Training Crestron Certifications AVIXA Certifications Manufacturer Technical Certifications Leadership Requirements Successful candidates should demonstrate: Experience leading crews of 3-10+ technicians. Ability to train and mentor junior team members. Strong conflict resolution and communication skills. Experience coordinating directly with clients, PMs, GCs, and engineers. Ownership of project quality, safety, and schedule adherence. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and active construction sites. Ability to travel throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area and other project locations as required.
