Job Description:

We are seeking a driven, self-motivated Junior AV Technician in the Dallas Metroplex. We are looking for an experienced individual with the knowledge, expertise and passion to service an upscale clientele while representing the Free My Music brand. This is not an entry-level position. You must have 4-5 years of experience working as a technician for a residential or commercial A/V Integration company and also have the motivation and the ability to learn to become a Senior Technician in the years ahead.

Job Responsibility :

Assist in the installation and integration of high-end AV, lighting, shading, and control systems Execute clean, precise wiring (Cat6, speaker wire, fiber, etc.) with attention to detail and aesthetics Support rack builds, device mounting, TV installations, and system commissioning Work alongside senior technicians to learn system design, troubleshooting, and programming basics Conduct system diagnostics, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure reliability and efficiency Provide exceptional customer service, including client education on system functionalities. Keep up to date with the latest trends and advancements in audio/visual and automation technology Represent Free My Music on job sites with professionalism and pride in your work Ensure every install meets our standard: clean, reliable, and invisible

General Job Requirements:

4-5 years of hands-on experience in AV installation (residential or commercial) Strong understanding of low-voltage wiring fundamentals Possess network configuration and troubleshooting skills Ability to use tools safely and effectively (drills, testers, termination tools, etc.) Physically able to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in construction environments Strong understanding of audio and video signal flow and equipment Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics Strong organizational skills, cleanliness and attention to detail Self-motivated, positive attitude, high-energy individual who can multi-task well Must have excellent communication and organizational skills with emphasis on customer service Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the business Must have valid Texas driver's license and a good driving record

Industry Specific Experience Requirements:

Ability to work with a team on a structured pre-wire project for whole house A/V, both in new construction and retrofit projects Must possess networking experience (routers, switches, access points) Experience with component rack design and cable dressing Able to mount flatscreen TVs and Soundbars on drywall, stone and concrete surfaces Experience with installing and calibrating media room projectors and screens. Knowledge of architectural (in-ceiling / in-wall) speaker installation. Certified home automation programmer a plus (URC Complete Control & Total Control, Control4 or others) Experience with Lutron Radio RA2, RA3 and Homeworks, Araknis Networking and Luma surveillance programming/configuration experience is a plus.
