Position Overview We are seeking a Lead AV Technician who can confidently take ownership of residential integration projects from start to finish. This is a hands-on field role for someone who enjoys both the technical and physical aspects of installation—not someone looking to transition into a desk-only role. The ideal candidate is a highly capable technician with strong programming aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead by example in the field. This individual will serve as the lead technician on-site, mentor junior technicians, and help elevate the entire team through collaboration and knowledge sharing. This role primarily supports high-end residential new construction projects with some retrofit work. Key Responsibilities Lead Residential AV Installations Execute projects from pre-wire through final programming and client handoff Install, troubleshoot, configure, and commission integrated AV and automation systems Build and terminate racks, trim systems, install devices, and perform final system testing Programming & System Integration Configure and support systems including: Lutron Crestron Home Control4 Josh.ai Additional smart home ecosystems as needed Lighting & Shading Systems Install and support lighting control and motorized shading systems Experience with Lutron, Hunter Douglas, or Draper shades is highly valued Team Leadership & Mentorship Lead small field crews and work collaboratively with junior technicians Share knowledge openly and help train less-experienced team members Foster a team-oriented environment focused on collective success Client Interaction Serve as the primary field contact for homeowners and builders Communicate professionally and confidently on-site Ensure a clean, polished, and high-quality customer experience Required Qualifications Experience as a lead technician in residential AV or smart home integration Strong understanding of at least one major control or automation platform Ability to manage projects independently in the field Experience reading plans, troubleshooting systems, and completing projects start-to-finish Strong communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable performing physical installation work including crawl spaces, ladders, and job-site environments Valid driver's license and clean driving record Preferred Qualifications Experience with: Lutron lighting and shading systems Crestron Home Control4 Josh.ai Experience mentoring or training junior technicians Residential new construction experience Rack building and system commissioning experience Compensation $35-$41/hour depending on experience and expertise Benefits Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Paid Time Off Company Holidays Monthly Training Days Company Vehicle Provided During Work Hours Relocation Assistance Available for the Right Candidate Q3VpyPoIUY
