Job Description

1 SUMMARY AV Tech & Digital Media Coordinator fills several essential aspects of the worship department and plays a highly visible and engaged role in our staff, membership, and volunteer teams. The AV Tech portion of the role is responsible for maintaining reliable and consistent technical support for worship services and events. This is done through updating and maintaining production technologies, deploying best practices and training resources through documented approaches. Additionally, the Digital Media portion of the role is responsible for the weekly planning and production of high- quality videos for sermons, devotions, podcasts, and occasional announcements. This requires operational and maintenance knowledge of production resources, as well as planning and executing video shooting, editing, and publishing. 2 REPORTING The AV Tech & Digital Media Coordinator reports to the Director of Worship. They are also responsible for collaborating with other staff and committees in performing your duties. 3 ROLES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES3.1 AV
Tech:
Update and maintain production technologies. Maintain a reliable system for providing technical support for all worship services and events. Document all processes to be teachable and repeatable. Create a living document for Boot-Up, Troubleshooting, FAQ Training, Development and Boot-Down sequences for all tech positions. Set-up, sound check, and operate all tech (or delegate to scheduled volunteers) in all services (traditional, contemporary, weddings, funerals, special events, etc. Or as assigned by the Director of Worship) Create Contemporary Service Slides through ProPresenter for the contemporary services (worship services, weddings, funerals, special events, etc. or as assigned by the Director of Worship). 1.1
Digital Media:
Collaborate with the Director of Worship to create digital media resources designed to connect people to our church. Develop a method for shooting and editing that convey a consistent "style" with the goal of drawing people to our ministry and helping people who are not connected with our church to "get to know us" through our digital content. Create and manage a consistent schedule for shooting, editing, and uploading the various content pieces that are produced. Communicate with the Pastors, Staff, and ministry leaders who will be on camera to coordinate shoot days, content topics and other pertinent details. Editing in post-production for multiple media avenues (I.E. Vertical/Portrait Video & Audio Only) for distribution through multiple platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music) 3.4
General Responsibilities & Expectations:
Physical presence on campus during every service for live mixing purposes. Presence may also be required for pre-service setup, testing and troubleshooting. Tear-down from the previous week and set up for the upcoming weekend's rehearsal (currently Thursday evenings). Occasional absence from services may be allowed if all positions are covered. Collaborate with the Director of Worship to produce high-quality in-house Worship opportunities. Management of all volunteers in the Technical Arts Department. Responsible for training technical volunteers of any skill level to produce high-quality Worship experiences across audio and visual roles. Encourage harmony amongst technical volunteers. Control equipment to ensure quality specs are met, as well as plan for future development of Tech as a ministry. Collaborate with the Director of Worship on new creative ways to utilize our tech to engage the congregation in Worship, as well as dream what could be done in tech. Troubleshoot production equipment to ensure proper functionality for the day's production. Manage and upgrade cameras, microphones, data storage, and sets for video production. Dream new ways to connect with our congregation and the community through video.
