BHO Technician I Compensation:
Starting at $17.90/hr
  • Can make up to $20/hr (DOE, + bonus programs available).

Role & Responsibilities:
The BHO Technician I position is responsible for supporting the production of all butane hash oil (BHO) products. In addition to their principal duties, the BHO Technician I position is expected to maintain GMP standards for the BHO production areas as instructed by the Production Manager, Concentrates Supervisor, and all BHO Technician levels II
  • III. Primary Duties (including, but not limited to): Pre
  • & post
  • processing tasks supporting all BHO Technician levels II
  • III in the production of BHO products: Packing and unpacking socks for extractions. Data entry associated with packing and unpacking socks. CRC media handling
  • loading and unloading CRC columns.
Whipping budders and batters. Separating terpenes via centrifugation and decanting. Homogenization and pouring of THCA solutions for recrystallization. Weighing, labeling, and storage of extracted resins. Sampling finished products for analysis. All packaging tasks as needed by production. Cleaning of the general working area associated with your shift Work well and effectively with fellow co-workers. Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervision received:
Production Manager, Concentrates Supervisor, all BHO Technicians level II

Supervision given:
N/A Evaluation process: 30, 60, & 90-day evaluations as well as annual reviews following this initial evaluation period.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications for education, training, and prior experience: A High School Diploma or GED is required. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be able to pass a background screening for employment within the CA cannabis industry. Preferred skills & knowledge: Any specific education or experience working with BHO production, general chemistry, within a lab environment, or performing essential oil extractions in another industry is preferred, but not required. Direct experience working in hazard rated environments (C1D1 and C1D2 specifically). Direct experience working in a laboratory, commercial kitchen, or similar GMP production setting. High attention to detail. Ability to maintain internal inventory records. Computer skills including cloud-based programs such as google sheets, docs, asana, etc. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Physical requirements:
Requires single lifting ability of ≤50 lbs. Requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, and use of hands. Frequently crouching, stooping, bending, and reaching. Must work near cold surfaces and wear appropriate PPE. Must work in noisy & cold conditions with excess humidity. Stand for short/ high periods of time. Sit for short/ medium periods of time. Walk for short/high periods of time. Occasionally sit on the floor or at floor level. Handle the responsibilities and routine stress often associated with this position. Attendance & general performance expectations: 40 hrs. per week minimum, additional hrs. as needed by the production schedule. Excellent communication when needed to be absent, delegating tasks appropriately before leaving.   • must plan two to eight weeks in advance, depending upon the directions given by the department managers.
Ability to manage the periodic stresses of working in a fast past production environment with fluctuating delivery deadlines.
