The Multimedia Specialist is responsible for creating and delivering high-quality multimedia content that informs, educates, and engages the public across Douglas County's communication platforms. This position develops a wide variety of visual communications, including video productions, live broadcasts, graphic design, photography, website content, and digital media for social media, the County website, the County government access television station, and other public communication channels. Working independently and collaboratively with County departments and elected officials, the Multimedia Specialist manages projects from concept through completion, including planning, field and studio production, editing, graphic design, and content delivery. The position also supports live government meetings and special events through technical directing, camera operation, audio production, and livestream management. This position reports to the Production Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include, but are not limited to: Produce high-quality multimedia content for the County's communication platforms, including social media, the County website, DCTV23, presentations, public meetings, and special events. Plan, coordinate, and execute video productions from concept through completion, including pre-production planning, field and studio recording, editing, and final delivery. Operate professional video, audio, lighting, and photography equipment in both studio and field environments. Provide audiovisual support for County meetings, ceremonies, press conferences, and other special events by transporting, setting up, operating, and breaking down professional video, audio, and presentation equipment. Support live and recorded government meetings and special events by performing technical directing, PTZ camera operation, live audio mixing, graphics playback, livestream monitoring, and other production functions. Produce graphic design materials for digital and print communications, including social media graphics, promotional materials, presentations, informational graphics, and other visual assets. Assist in the programming, scheduling, operation, and quality control of DCTV23, including preparing content for broadcast, scheduling programming, monitoring playback, and troubleshooting routine broadcast issues. Capture still photography to support County communications, marketing, public information, and archival needs. Update and maintain content on the County website through the content management system, including publishing text, photos, graphics, videos, and other digital content. Collaborate with County departments and elected officials to determine communication needs and develop effective multimedia solutions. Organize, maintain, and archive digital media assets, project files, and production equipment. Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and prepare multimedia equipment for production assignments. Participate in emergency communications and special event coverage as assigned. Perform other related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE
Associate or Bachelor's degree in film and video production, digital media, communications, broadcasting, graphic design, or a closely related field. Equivalent professional experience may substitute for education. Minimum of two years of professional experience in multimedia production, video production, television production, digital media, or a related field. Demonstrated experience producing professional-quality video content from concept through final delivery. Experience operating professional video production equipment in both studio and field environments. Experience with non-linear video editing software. An equivalent combination of education and directly related professional experience may be considered.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Multimedia Production:
Proficiency in professional non-linear video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent). Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop and Illustrator; experience with After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Audition, Canva, and other creative applications preferred. Knowledge of professional video production techniques, including composition, lighting, audio recording, and visual storytelling. Skill in operating professional video cameras, PTZ cameras, photography equipment, lighting, audio equipment, and related production gear. Knowledge of live video production workflows, including technical directing, livestreaming, camera switching, graphics playback, and audio mixing. Ability to create engaging graphic design materials for digital and print communications. Knowledge of digital asset management, file organization, and media archiving best practices. Experience using website content management systems to update and maintain website content preferred. Communication and Organization Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with County staff, elected officials, vendors, and the public. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as part of a team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and production requirements. Knowledge of safe operating procedures for multimedia production equipment. WORK SCHEDULE
Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other non-standard hours as needed to support Board of Commissioners meetings, public meetings, special events, emergency communications, live broadcasts, and other County activities. Occasional local travel within the County and surrounding area may be required.
