This role is for someone with workplace initiative, is willing to learn and be adaptable, and is excited to help a company grow. Job Description This position is within the lab production team. This Lab Technician 1 encompasses duties that are involved in making liquid and dry microbial active ingredients that go into final products, as well as basic media and lab consumable prep for the laboratory. Someone that considers themselves a constant learner and brings a great sense of detail to their work would be an ideal candidate.

40 hours per week

Schedule:

Monday - Friday Responsibilities Solid and liquid media preparation for research and production purposes which involves mixing and measuring chemicals and reagents Using aseptic technique and wearing proper PPE Preparing and pouring agar-based media in petri plates Using a pH meter and adjusting pH to meet specifications Safe and proper use of an autoclave Managing the media request calendar Data entry and lookup in LIMS system Managing time and tasks efficiently while maintaining excellent quality of work Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as a part of a team Lab consumable preparation for research and production purposes Operation, upkeep, cleaning, and maintenance of fermentation equipment and bioreactors Following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices Maintaining appropriate inventory levels of lab consumables and other lab material inventories Essential laboratory cleaning duties including but not limited to the cleaning of scientific glassware, equipment, and laboratory work areas Following established batch sheets, SOPs, and training sessions with fellow lab co-workers while paying attention for areas of improvement and modifications Accurately filling out batch sheets for recorded keeping purposes Data entry and data visualization Qualifications Previous laboratory experience, outside of course work is preferred Associate/technical degree in microbiology, biology, chemistry, or plant science or equivalent experience with High School degree Undergraduate degree in microbiology, biology, chemistry, or plant science preferred but not necessary Experience with aseptic technique, weighing and mixing chemicals and reagents, measuring pH, and autoclave-use is preferred Experience working in a quality control and/or manufacturing-like settings is preferred Experience with Microsoft Office Demonstrated ability to deal with complexity, ambiguity, and at times shifting priorities Results driven, detail oriented, alert, and thorough Job will require standing and lifting up to 50 lbs.
