TRF 453/653
Short-Form Production on Tuesdays/Thursdays 3:30-4:50 in the Fall 2026 semester (3 credits).
Course Description:
Techniques of shortform moving image media such as commercials, promos, music videos, show openings, special effects, and high impact packaging. This course is an intermediate production course covering the introduction to the theory and practice related to multimedia shortform production. Shortform production encompass a wide range of specialized program niches: commercials, music videos, on-air promos, identity packages; program opens; to name a few. As effective shortform works elicit a variety of impressions and communicate important information about their subject matter the instructor of this class must effectively teach students to use of all elements of communication design: cinematography and videography; graphics and animation; music and sound effects; and editing technique. The class will identify and explore these various elements and their use in effective communication.
