Field Technician Job Description We are looking for a skilled Field Technician to join our team. This role requires extensive travel, up to 80% of the time, throughout Southern Nevada, Northern Arizona, and Southern Utah, with the potential to expand throughout Nevada. The position involves working in pairs to conduct field tests, operating 4x4 company vehicles in remote areas, and using specialized equipment to gather and upload data daily. Responsibilities Maintain a safe driving and working environment, driving in remote and off-road conditions using company 4x4 vehicles. Perform vehicle maintenance, including checking fluids, fueling, maintaining tire pressure, and keeping the vehicle clean. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Report any defects or mechanical issues to the supervisor. Monitor multiple screens with various data, including RSSI, BER, and GPS. Conduct instrument checks on vehicles and test equipment. Program both portable and mobile radios. Install and remove RF components, charge and swap radio batteries as needed. Monitor low voltage DC systems. Essential Skills Experience with troubleshooting and field service. Knowledge of radio systems, SATCOM, military communications, RF communication, and RF testing. Experience with electronics testing, including voltage, amps, and ohms. Basic to advanced computer skills and experience operating electronic test equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with P25 radio systems or other two-way radio system operations. Basic electronics experience is useful. Experience with RF radio systems, portable/mobile servicing, or amateur radio (Ham Radio). Military esperience in radio or SATCOM is beneficial. Experience operating on/off road 4x4 vehicles with a clean driving record. Experience with LMR and P25 experience for E911 systems is desired. Work Environment This role involves constant travel and driving on the road with a counterpart, splitting time between data gathering and driving. The work schedule includes 10-12 hour days, 6 days a week, with significant overtime opportunities. Company vehicles and all necessary test equipment are provided.
