About the Opportunity The Media Center Support Coordinator is a role within the Media Studios Organization at Northeastern University's College of Arts, Media, and Design (CAMD). The Support Coordinator is responsible for supporting the daily operation of the Media Center, CAMD's media equipment library. Their job responsibilities include preparing, maintaining, and organizing equipment loans that provide photographic, video, lighting, and sound equipment to students, faculty, and staff in the College. The Media Center also provides museum-quality digital printing for students, faculty, and staff; as such the Media Center Support Coordinator will also help manage the Center's printing workflow. This role reports directly to the Media Center Manager.
Major duties and responsibilities include:
Managing and operating the Web Checkout reservation and inventory software platform. Managing equipment, including basic maintenance; organizing and processing daily orders for students, faculty, and staff; moving and organizing equipment as needed; storing equipment properly; and ordering repair inventory as needed. Assisting with the management of a team of Media Center work study students. Assisting with the acquisition of new media equipment and the retirement of old media equipment. Assisting with the creation of a knowledge bank for the Media Center. Leading workshops for faculty and students regarding the appropriate use of Media Center equipment. Assisting with the documentation of the Media Center's best practices. Managing digital, email, and phone communications for the center. Assisting with the maintenance and operation of CAMD's darkroom facility. In addition to Media Center responsibilities, this person will frequently work with staff in the Media Studios Organization's Production Studios, Immersive Media (AR/VR/XR) Lab, Makerspaces, and other creative practice spaces. In order to be successful, the candidate must be able to demonstrate strong collaboration and communication skills. The Media Center Support Coordinator is a student- and faculty-facing role in the College. This position requires excellent customer service skills and will work on campus during normal business hours four days a week with the option to work remotely one day each week. Qualifications A Bachelor's or Associate degree in a media-centered field is required for this position. Candidates with at least 3 years of experience in a related field will also be considered. This position requires experience with various media production equipment, such as DSLR cameras, audio recording devices, video production equipment, and lighting equipment. Experience with Epson wide-format printers is not required, but desired. Candidates without wide-format printing experience can be trained on the job. Strong communication, collaboration, and customer service skills are mandatory. Candidates must also be able to lift 20 pounds. $53,615.00 - $75,728.75 With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role.
