Updated 08/27/2026 Job Description Job Summary Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking an Technical Control Facility Operator (TCF Operator) to support a government contract based on the island of Diego Garcia.
PURPOSE / SCOPE
The Technical Control Facility (TCF) Operator is responsible for ensuring circuits and systems will meet the management and performance threshold contained in DISA Circular 310-130-2. The TCF is responsible for providing voice and data signals, satellite communications, communications security, and telecommunications to tenant commands. TCF operations include but are not limited to: Managing communications equipment, monitoring data connectivity, activating new circuits and trunks, monitoring circuit and trunk continuity, performing quality control checks, responding to emergent tasking's, monitoring HF communications, managing frequency databases, and KMI local element accounts. The Contractor TCF Quality Control (QC) plan shall be IAW global, USG, Company, Program and PWS requirements and other directives. Maintain and record all QC activities that are scheduled and/or completed. Will perform other duties as assigned. The TCF Operator will be available for on-call support as needed 24 hours/day, 7 days/week in this role.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent Four (4) years general experience in communications. Within the last four years, two years specialized experience directly related to Technical Control Facility operations. Within the last four years, two years specialized experience in the theoretical and practical knowledge of electronic theory and of characteristics, functions, diagnosing, isolating and correcting malfunctions and performing organizational level maintenance on, but not limited to:
AN/GSC 52B, M/20
JUNIPER, RT2200, KIV7M, and associated CRYPTO equipment; Fiber Optic Equipment, or two years specialized experience in operation and maintenance of the above equipment at a military or commercial communications center Familiarity with and the ability to monitor and operate a variety of communications and electronic equipment, as referenced in J-0200000-04, including, but not limited to: Security systems and monitors Antenna couplers Multiplex/de-multiplex equipment Line amplifiers Frequency standards High speed modems Power supplies Data terminal sets Alarms Signal converters Remote SATCOM monitors Various satellite, HF voice and data communication ancillary equipment and devices. Must be familiar with current global, US, Program and PWS requirements Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to obtain and maintain a US passport and drivers license throughout employment in this role Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring Ability to successfully pass the medical contract requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Able to stand for long periods of time such as eight (8) to ten (10) hours, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies Able to lift, carry, and push supplies and boxes up to 50 pounds Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable May work in a typical office environment This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in offices, industrial warehouses, ports, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location. ​
