SMT Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled SMT Technician responsible for setting up and operating production equipment, utilizing both automated systems and manual placement techniques. The role requires achieving high standards of quality, efficiency, and productivity while ensuring that all equipment and assemblies adhere to print specifications and workmanship standards. Responsibilities Set up and operate assigned production equipment using automated and manual methods. Monitor equipment operations to ensure assemblies are built to specifications. Conduct quality audits, monitor processes, and troubleshoot to maintain equipment within acceptable parameters. Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, specifications, drawings, schematics, process sheets, wiring diagrams, and small print. Identify and recognize different types of solder paste and their applications. Use a variety of hand tools, including calipers, for assembly and troubleshooting. Troubleshoot and correct mechanical problems with assigned production equipment. Work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to produce quality results. Essential Skills Intermediate level proficiency in MS Office applications (Word and Excel). Basic understanding of SMT theories such as reflow profiling and screen printing defects. Advanced component identification skills. Ability to read and understand load plans. Mechanical ability to troubleshoot production equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent. Work Environment The position is based on the manufacturing floor. The schedule includes one first shift from Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm, and two weekend shifts from Friday to Sunday, 3:15pm to 3:45am. Overtime opportunities are available, offering up to 40 hours per month for a bonus. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Pleasant, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
