Seattle, WA Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Utility III to support television and broadcast production operations for the MLB matchup between the Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park. The Utility III is the most advanced utility role and should be staffed by someone with significant live-event television experience, preferably with prior experience working at T-Mobile Park or a similar major-league venue. This position requires someone who can work independently, anticipate the needs of the production team, and step into a leadership role when necessary. The ideal candidate is technically knowledgeable, dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced live sports environment.

Responsibilities:

• Report to the venue on both the September 22 set day and September 23 game day.
• Assist with the setup, deployment, and teardown of television production equipment.
• Assist with building and taking down cameras as directed.
• Support handheld camera operators and other members of the television production crew.
• Run, organize, and maintain camera and television production cables.
• Properly perform over/under cable wrapping to ensure clean, professional, and safe cable coils.
• Maintain tidy cable runs and organized cable coils behind handheld camera operators.
• Assist with monitors, cameras, cables, and other TV production equipment as needed.
• Identify and address basic equipment or cabling issues when possible.
• Work independently with minimal to no supervision once assigned tasks.
• Take initiative and assume a lead role when circumstances require.
• Maintain a professional, safety-conscious, and team-oriented approach throughout the event.
• Follow directions from production leadership while anticipating upcoming needs.

Required Qualifications:

• Advanced experience in live television, sports broadcasting, or event production.
• Demonstrated proficiency with over/under cable wrapping.
• Ability to maintain clean, organized cable coils and cable paths in active production environments.
• Ability to work independently and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
• Ability to take direction while also recognizing what needs to be done without being asked.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure live sports environment.
• Prior experience working at T-Mobile Park or a comparable MLB/Major League sports venue is strongly preferred.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal Utility III is a seasoned broadcast utility professional who understands the pace and expectations of a major-league sports production. They should be someone production leadership can trust to arrive prepared, work independently, maintain professional standards, and step up to lead when needed. This is not an entry-level utility position. Candidates should have substantial hands-on experience with live television production and camera support.

This position involves working in an active sports venue and may require extended periods of standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and working around production equipment and cables. Candidates should be comfortable working around a live television production environment and following venue and production safety procedures.
