Position Function:

The Director of Creative Video helps lead and guide Mississippi State Athletics' creative video efforts, supporting the development, production, and execution of video content across all sports, while serving as the primary creative lead for the men's basketball program. This position provides leadership for the department's creative video team, ensuring collaboration, alignment, and consistency in the execution of the overall creative vision across Athletics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Help lead and supervise the creative video content team, contributing to the overall video content strategy for all Mississippi State Athletics programs while serving as the primary creative lead for Men's Basketball. 2. Work closely with the Communications, Marketing, and Broadcast teams to plan and produce videos and digital assets that align with departmental initiatives, including storytelling, social media, recruiting, marketing, ticket sales, videoboard, and donor engagement. 3. Collaborate with the Assistant AD for Creative Strategy and Senior Associate AD for Communications and Content to guide the daily operations, workflow, and creative output of the video department. 4. Provide leadership and direction to the creative video team by promoting collaboration, establishing priorities, and ensuring video projects align with the department's overall creative vision and strategic goals. 5. Provide input and creative direction for a team of 3-5 full-time staff members and multiple student interns, helping develop a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing creative environment. 6. Lead the creative media efforts for the men's basketball program while supporting the video needs of other assigned sports and departmental units, including Bulldog Club, Bulldog Athlete Services, and Bulldog Sports Properties/Learfield, as departmental priorities require. 7. Contribute to setting and executing a unified creative vision for video across all social media and digital platforms, ensuring consistency with MSU brand standards and messaging. 8. Meet quick turnarounds to post high quality videos on same day that events occur, while meeting the guiding principles, strategies and goals of the department. 9. Provide insight to push department forward with emerging trends in social, digital media, as well as in-venue entertainment. 10. Ensure consistency in brand guidelines and messaging related to content and posting. 11. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility Helps supervise a creative video team consisting of 3-5 full-time staff members and several student interns. The above essential duties are representative of major duties in this position. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based upon departmental needs. Other duties may be assigned to the above consistent with the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job. Not all of the duties may be assigned to a position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Videography, Photography, Graphic Design or related field

Creative Media Services Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must ensure compliance with NCAA, SEC and University policies and procedures.
Ability to travel with the team.
Professional, optimistic, positive problem-solver.
Required to work quickly, efficiently, and with adaptability under strict deadlines.
Ability to work long hours including nights, weekends and holidays
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge and experience with Adobe Creative Suite required, specifically Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects.
Work experience and knowledge of video production, including but not limited to shooting, non-linear editing, color correction, audio editing.
Experience within NCAA Division I college athletics program desired.
Proven success producing creative and innovative multi-media content.
Experience in other multi-media production platforms (web sites, animation, graphic design) desired
Knowledge of professional and cinematic video camera equipment required, including but not limited to Sony Cinema Line cameras and lenses (Fx3, Fx6, and Fx9), DJI gimbal systems, and Black Magic Design camera systems.
Knowledge of a collegiate athletics department and the NCAA structure desired. Working Conditions and Physical Effort
