As a small agency, we wear a lot of hats. (Sometimes all at once.) That's why we're searching for someone who is equal parts designer, concept creator, problem solver and creative collaborator. You'll work closely with our Creative Director and Associate Creative Director to develop campaigns, brands, websites, annual reports, videos and whatever exciting challenge lands on our desks next. If you're the type of person who can move seamlessly from brainstorming a campaign concept to art directing a photoshoot to perfecting production files, keep reading. You generate thoughtful, strategic concepts that help clients achieve their goals. Design Expertise — You have a strong portfolio showcasing exceptional work across print, digital and branding projects. Production Know-How — You understand print production, digital specifications and how to build files that don't make vendors cry. Adaptability — One day you're designing an annual report. The next you're helping concept a fundraising campaign, reviewing website layouts or preparing assets for a video shoot. Collaboration Skills — You communicate clearly, take feedback professionally and work well with account managers, copywriters, developers, photographers and clients. What You'll Do Collaborate with the CD and ACD to develop creative concepts and campaign ideas Design and art direct print, digital, branding and web projects Create specifications and production-ready files for new work Ensure all creative work aligns with client brand standards Manage revisions, updates and mechanical artwork Recommend stock and custom photography solutions Participate in creative brainstorming and strategy sessions Assist with photo and video shoots when needed Present ideas and creative rationale internally and to clients Maintain a strong understanding of production capabilities and best practices Requirements 5+ years of professional design experience Strong portfolio demonstrating work across print, digital and branding projects Experience developing creative concepts, not just executing them Experience in an agency environment Experience art directing or participating in professional photo shoots Experience working on video productions, storyboards or commercial shoots Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Figma, Canva and Google Suite Experience with WordPress or website design workflows preferred Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Hybrid schedule with 2-3 days per week in our downtown Richmond, VA office Sound Like a Good Fit?
