Company:
The AdMark Group, Inc. About The AdMark Group The AdMark Group is a full-service marketing and advertising agency with more than 25 years of experience building brands and driving measurable business results. We work across both general and Hispanic markets and specialize in performance marketing, paid media, lead generation, brand strategy, creative development, content, and production. We are expanding our creative strategy capabilities and are looking for an experienced Creative Strategist who understands that great creative is not simply about making more ads. It is about knowing what to test, why to test it, and what the results are teaching us. This role will begin as a fractional, three-month engagement , with the potential to transition into a full-time position based on performance, fit, and agency needs. The Role The Creative Strategist will lead creative strategy across approximately 4-6 brands at a time , working closely with our media, account, copy, design, production, and leadership teams. You will be responsible for developing the strategic thinking behind our creative output. That means understanding the consumer, analyzing advertising performance, identifying messaging and creative gaps, developing hypotheses, creating testing roadmaps, briefing creative teams, and using performance data to determine what we should test next. We are not looking for someone whose primary strength is simply generating ideas. We are looking for someone who can answer: Who are we trying to persuade? What do they need to hear? Why should that message work? How should we communicate it? What should we test? And what did we learn? What You'll Own You will lead the creative strategy process from research through testing and iteration, including: Developing creative strategies for 4-6 brands across different industries and audiences Conducting consumer, competitive, category, and Voice of Customer research Identifying customer pain points, emotional drivers, purchase triggers, objections, and motivations Developing and refining customer personas based on research and performance data Auditing existing creative to understand what is working, what is not, and why Identifying gaps in personas, messaging, angles, formats, funnel stages, and creative approaches Developing strategic creative pillars and messaging territories Building structured creative testing roadmaps Creating clear, testable hypotheses for new creative Developing creative concepts, angles, hooks, offers, messaging frameworks, and calls to action Writing detailed creative briefs for copywriters, designers, creators, editors, and production teams Working closely with paid media teams to evaluate creative performance Reviewing results beyond surface-level metrics such as CTR and CPC Connecting creative performance to actual business outcomes including qualified leads, sign-ups, sales, CAC, CPL, CPQL, CPSU, and ROAS Identifying winning creative patterns and determining how to intelligently iterate on them Identifying creative fatigue and developing new executions before performance deteriorates Maintaining a creative learning library for each brand so that insights compound over time Presenting creative strategy and recommendations internally and, when appropriate, directly to clients Challenging assumptions and bringing an informed, independent strategic point of view to the table What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is naturally curious, analytical, creative, and commercially minded. The right person does not look at an advertisement and simply say: "I like it." They ask: "Who is this for? What insight is this based on? What are we testing? Why should this work? What variable are we trying to isolate? And what will we do differently depending on the result?"
Ideally, You Have:
4+ years of experience in creative strategy, performance creative, advertising strategy, growth marketing, or a closely related discipline Experience developing creative strategy for paid social and digital advertising Strong knowledge of Meta advertising and short-form video creative Experience interpreting advertising performance data An understanding of direct-response and performance marketing principles Experience developing personas, customer insights, messaging angles, creative concepts, and testing frameworks Strong knowledge of hooks, storytelling structures, UGC, testimonials, founder/expert content, statics, video, social-native formats, and other performance creative The ability to distinguish between a creative execution and the underlying strategic idea being tested Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong presentation skills and the confidence to defend a strategic recommendation Experience working across multiple brands simultaneously The ability to move between very different industries, consumers, brand voices, and business objectives Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize the tests most likely to generate meaningful learning Comfort working collaboratively with media buyers, designers, copywriters, content creators, editors, account teams, and senior leadership Bilingual English/Spanish fluency is a strong plus, particularly for candidates with experience developing culturally relevant creative strategy for Hispanic audiences.

Agency experience is strongly preferred. Experience with lead-generation brands is a major plus. Experience working across both ecommerce and lead-generation accounts is even better. You Should Understand Performance Creative We want someone who understands that the highest CTR does not necessarily identify the best advertisement. Depending on the account, success may ultimately be measured by: Qualified leads Sign-ups Appointments Calls Sales Customer acquisition cost ROAS Lead-to-sale conversion Cost per qualified lead You should be comfortable partnering with our media team to understand the entire funnel and determine whether creative is attracting the right customer , not simply generating inexpensive clicks. Research Is Part of the Job Strong creative strategy begins before brainstorming. You should be comfortable digging into: Customer reviews Search behavior Social comments Reddit and online communities Competitor advertising Meta Ad Library Sales and intake calls CRM data Customer objections Testimonials Product reviews Client research Campaign performance Cultural and category trends We expect our Creative Strategist to develop a genuine point of view , not simply summarize research. How We Use AI We believe AI will dramatically increase the capabilities and productivity of great creative strategists. We expect our Creative Strategist to be highly comfortable using AI for areas such as: Research Competitive analysis Review and comment mining Data synthesis Pattern identification Concept exploration Hook development Script variations Copy exploration Creative organization Performance summaries However, we do not believe AI replaces strategic judgment. The strategist remains responsible for deciding what matters, what should be tested, why it should work, and what the results actually mean. What Success Looks Like Within the first three months, you should be able to: Take strategic ownership of several AdMark client brands Build clear creative testing roadmaps for each account Establish a consistent process for turning research and performance data into creative recommendations Improve the quality and strategic rationale behind creative briefs Help the agency increase the volume of meaningful creative tests without sacrificing strategic rigor Create a repeatable feedback loop between Creative and Paid Media Reduce random creative production in favor of intentional experimentation Build a growing institutional knowledge base of what works, what doesn't, and what we should test next Most importantly, our leadership team should not have to initiate every new creative direction. You should be bringing the next strategic opportunity to us. The Interview Process We take the strategic component of this position seriously. Candidates who advance through the interview process should be prepared to complete a short creative strategy assignment . The assignment may include reviewing a brand, existing advertisements, competitive activity, consumer research, and/or campaign performance and then presenting: What you believe is working What you believe is missing Key consumer insights Creative opportunities Recommended personas or messaging angles What you would test next Why you would test it How you would evaluate success We are less interested in a beautiful presentation than we are in seeing how you think . We want to understand how you conduct research, interpret information, form an independent point of view, prioritize opportunities, and translate strategy into a clear testing plan. This Role Is Probably Not Right for You If... You consider brainstorming ideas to be creative strategy You prefer receiving assignments rather than identifying opportunities yourself You rely primarily on intuition rather than research and data You cannot explain why you are recommending a particular creative direction You view creative and media as separate disciplines You believe producing more content is inherently a creative strategy You are uncomfortable having your hypotheses challenged by performance data You rely on AI to provide the strategic point of view rather than using it to strengthen your own thinking This Role May Be Right for You If... You see an account with ten ads running and immediately want to know: Which personas are represented? Which angles have we tested? What haven't we tested? Where are the creative gaps? Which hooks are winning? Are we attracting qualified customers? What does the data suggest? What should we make next? If that's how your brain works, we'd like to hear from you. Compensation & Engagement This position begins as a fractional three-month engagement at $6,000-$8,000 per month , depending on experience, knowledge, portfolio quality, and demonstrated strategic capabilities. There is a strong opportunity for this role to become full-time for the right candidate. To apply, please include your resume and examples of creative strategy work, case studies, testing frameworks, creative briefs, or other materials that demonstrate how you think and how your strategic recommendations contributed to performance.
