Experience Position Summary:
Primarily responsible for managing the day to day and overall operations of the CALAB Creative Arts Center and supervise the staff working at that facility.
Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or GED and at least two year experience working with persons with Intellectual and Development Disabilities and/or medically/behaviorally challenging individuals.
Essential Duties& Responsibilities:
Ensure the day-to-day operations of the Creative Arts Center, to include but not limited: development and following a set budget, ensure adequate staffing pattern to meet the needs of the consumers, ensure adequate development of lesson plans and follow through of activities, review paperwork to ensure accuracy prior to submitting for billing.
Responsible to maintain all necessary documentation, training and rules are adhered to as part of the ISS process.
Ensure compliance with all State and Local entities to maintain license and certification.
Responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of all staff at the CALAB Creative Arts Center.
Responsible to ensure that all staff is adequately and thoroughly trained, including special needs of the consumers. The Director and direct care instructors must know all consumers special needs independent of written instructions, to include dietary needs, health needs, medications, supervision, and behaviors.
Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and within the timeframes to include but not limited to: human resource paperwork (status forms, new hire packets, training forms, insurance forms), billing to submit to the specified company or CALAB regions, timesheets, and other duties as assigned.
Complete and/or review lesson plans to support the upcoming week's theme with ample, interesting, and creative activities for the week. Seek community resources to work with the Creative Arts Center for free and / or inexpensive activities as well as guest speakers and field trips. This may also include volunteering in the community.
Ensure that direct care instructors are developing lesson plans, engaging the consumers in active, meaningful activities and managing consumers special needs correctly, ie: diet, behaviors, etc…
Ensure that every consumer and direct care instructor are assigned a schedule and subsequently follow it.
Ensure that all classes are covered, which includes conducting training for some classes.
Ensure the building is maintained in a good order and all décor is maintained.
Ensure that vehicles that are used by the CALAB Creative Arts Center are maintained adequately in regards to cleanliness and overall mechanical maintenance. Coordinate with consumers, agency, and/or families as needed, for money needed for special events or field trips within the guidelines (including ratios) of the ISS program. Ensure the implementation of social group, rules, and consequence for those who do not follow the rules.
Ensure replenishing supplies, as needed for the operations of the facility. Responsible for other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Writing skills for documentation, communication skills.
Physical and Sensory Skills:
Ability to communicate with and assist all consumers ability to read, write and converse in English and in a professional manner.
Equipment and Work Aids Used:
Computer, telephone, copier, fax.

Ensure all staff are adequately trained.
Ensure the building, furnishings, and all vehicles used by the Creative Arts Center are maintained in good condition.
