Job Description
The Florida Everblades are seeking an energetic, outgoing, and enthusiastic individual to serve as our Alternate Mascot throughout the Everblades season. This individual will help bring our mascot to life by creating memorable experiences for fans of all ages while representing the Everblades brand both at home games and community events. The Alternate Mascot will work alongside our primary mascot, Swampee, and the game presentation team to entertain fans, promote fan engagement, and help create the exciting atmosphere that has become synonymous with Everblades hockey. Essential Responsibilities Perform as the Florida Everblades mascot during home games, promotional events, appearances, and community outreach opportunities. Engage with fans of all ages through interaction, improvisation, and high-energy entertainment. Participate in pregame, in-game, and postgame activities, including skits, contests, promotions, and photo opportunities. Work closely with the game presentation staff to execute game scripts and promotional elements. Maintain the mascot's character and personality at all times while in costume. Assist with community appearances including school visits, sponsor events, charity functions, parades, and festivals. Help maintain the mascot costume by reporting any damage or maintenance needs after each appearance. Represent the Florida Everblades in a professional, positive, and enthusiastic manner. Qualifications Previous mascot, cheer, dance, theater, improv, or performance experience preferred but not required. Comfortable performing in front of large crowds. Strong non-verbal communication and improvisational skills. Positive attitude with an outgoing personality. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on the Everblades game schedule. Reliable transportation to Hertz Arena and community appearances. Physical Requirements Ability to wear a full mascot costume for extended periods (typically 30-45 minutes at a time). Ability to stand, walk, dance, and perform high-energy movements throughout games and events. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Comfortable working in warm conditions while wearing the mascot costume. Ability to climb stairs and navigate various event environments safely. Preferred Skills Strong sense of humor and creativity. Experience entertaining children and families. Ability to think quickly and adapt during live events. Team-oriented with a willingness to take direction and collaborate with game presentation staff. Time Commitment Availability for the majority of Florida Everblades home games during the season. Availability for select community appearances, promotional events, and sponsor activations outside of game days.
