Lemont, IL Job Details Part-time $13.00 - $19.84 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications In-person customer service Moving Venue customer assistance Event setup Full Job Description Salary Range for 18 and over is $15.00 - $19.84 Minimum Starting Wage for 16 is $13.00 The Fun Squad staff member is responsible for assisting with the setup, execution, and cleanup of special events and programs at the park district. This role involves working both indoors and outdoors, ensuring events run smoothly and providing excellent customer service to families and residents. Duties include event setup and takedown, crowd management, assisting vendors, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. This position requires flexibility, teamwork, and a positive attitude, as shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Set up and take down all equipment for the assigned special event as needed. Leads activities and interacts with the public to encourage participation. Communicate the special programs, services, and operations of the District. Ensure that all participants stay safe during special events by educating them on safe practices and making sure that all areas are up to safety standards. Responsible for birthday parties serving as the "party host". Duties include set-up, decorating, food/drink serving, clean-up, and activities creating a fun, safe, energetic, and exciting atmosphere for birthday participants and their guests. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Applicants must be 16 years of age or older in compliance with Illinois Child Labor Laws and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Able to organize games, set up events and communicate well with the public. Requires strong people and customer service skills and being able to communicate effectively with staff and the public. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. with assistance to setup and/or teardown special events. First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire.
Work Environment:
Work will take place in a variety of locations and environments; indoor and outdoor. Employee may be required to work during various weather conditions when requested, including hot and cold temperatures as well as rain and snow. Fast-paced and physically active role with frequent walking, lifting, and prolonged standing. Interaction with the public, event participants, and other staff. May require evening, weekend, and holiday availability depending on event schedules. Physical set up or take-down of equipment and supplies is required, this is a job for active participants.
