Job Description

Congregation Or Shalom is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Audiovisual & Livestream Coordinator to support worship services and select congregational events throughout the year. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring audio, video, and livestream technology to ensure a high-quality experience for congregants attending both in person and online. No prior professional experience is required. We provide training for the equipment and systems used at Congregation Or Shalom. This position is an excellent opportunity for a college student or someone seeking a consistent, part-time role with a predictable schedule and an interest in technology, music, or live events. We are looking for someone who is interested in growing with our congregation and becoming a consistent member of our worship support team. Essential Responsibilities Prepare audiovisual and livestream equipment prior to worship services and special events. Set up, test, and operate microphones, wireless audio systems, cameras, Zoom, and related equipment. Monitor and adjust audio levels throughout services to ensure clear sound for both in-person and virtual participants. Operate and monitor the Zoom livestream during services. Assist clergy, musicians, staff, volunteers, and guest speakers with microphones and other technical needs. Perform equipment checks before each service and troubleshoot minor issues as needed. Tear down and properly store equipment following services and events. Maintain an organized A/V closet and equipment storage area. Report equipment concerns or maintenance needs to the appropriate staff member. Provide audiovisual support for occasional congregational programs and special events. Work Schedule This is a part-time position averaging approximately 2 to 5.5 hours per week .
Typical responsibilities include:
Weekly Friday evening Shabbat services (approximately 6:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.) Saturday morning B'nai Mitzvah services during the school year (approximately 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) Occasional congregational programs and special events Most weeks include one Friday evening service, with Saturday morning services scheduled during the school year. Summer schedules are lighter and typically include only the weekly Friday evening service. Work schedules are provided well in advance.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will:
Be at least 18 years of age. Be dependable, punctual, and able to commit to a regular service schedule throughout the year. Be comfortable learning and using technology. Have strong attention to detail. Remain calm and focused during live services and events. Communicate professionally and work effectively with clergy, staff, volunteers, musicians, and congregants. Work independently after training. Have an interest in technology, music, theater, livestreaming, or live events (preferred but not required).
