(Purpose of the Position): The St. Olaf Women's Ice Hockey program is seeking a highly motivated, dependable, and team-oriented student manager to support daily operations and contribute to a championship-level student-athlete experience. This role provides hands-on involvement in an NCAA Division III athletic environment and plays a key part in upholding our program values of Integrity, Gratitude, Commitment, Relentlessness, and Team.Transferable Skills:
The student manager position provides hands-on experience that builds valuable, résumé-ready skills applicable to a wide range of careers. Through this role, students will develop:Leadership & Initiative:

Building habits consistent with high-performing organizations and supporting team success daily.Duties and Responsibilities:
Practice & Game Operations- Assist coaches with the setup and breakdown of practice equipment (pucks, cones, whiteboards, video equipment, etc.).
- Help manage bench operations during games (water bottles, equipment needs, communication with staff).
- Coordinate game-day needs as directed by coaching staff: set up game jerseys, warm up pucks, stock fridge with game pucks Equipment & Locker Room Support
- Maintain inventory of pucks, jerseys, apparel, and other team gear.
- Assist with laundry duties, including washing, drying, and organizing practice and game uniforms.
- Support equipment repairs or communication with athletic equipment staff when needed.
- Keep the locker room area tidy, organized, and consistent with team standards. Video & Technology Support
- Operate iPad/camera setup for practice drills and game filming as needed. Administrative & Team Support
- Help with travel preparation (packing lists, loading/unloading the bus, meal distribution).
- Uphold confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications:
(Education/Experience/Skills)- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Reliable, punctual, and consistent follow-through.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-first environment.
- Skate sharpening (will provide training).
- Ability to lift/move equipment up to 30 lbs.
- Camera operation to film practices.
- Commitment to maintaining an inclusive and supportive team culture.
Physical and Environmental Factors:
This position requires crouching, stooping, twisting/pivoting, climbing/balancing, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs., and operating equipment or machinery to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise, respiratory factors, chemicals, vibrations, wet or humid conditions indoors, extreme cold, and proximity hazards to perform the essential functions.
