Job Description

Be part of an award-winning broadcasting team! Join an industry-leading team this summer and gain valuable, hands-on experience in sports broadcasting while building skills and connections that can help launch your career. The St. Cloud Rox are a leader in fan support, winning, community engagement, and staff development, along with consistently creating a ballpark environment that is incredibly entertaining and fun for fans and staff. The Rox have a proven track record of providing interns with hands-on experience and knowledge that will be useful in competing for jobs in the sports industry. Many former Rox interns have obtained a full-time job with sports organizations after their internship. The Rox will work with you to fulfill requirements for college credit if necessary. This position starts in May and lasts through mid-August.
Reports to:
Creative Media Director
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • In communication with Flo Sports and the Northwoods League to make sure we are a top tier broadcast
  • Lead the production of a Northwoods League game, responsible for running graphics, inserting commercial breaks and any other preproduced creative for the broadcast
  • Learn Wirecast, Stats updater, and any other software that is used for each game day
  • Completes pre-season training videos/training
  • Clip highlights during the game for both teams that are uploaded to Dropbox so teams can use them for social media purposes in a timely manner
  • Assists in maintaining all video/broadcast production equipment o Includes setup and teardown of 4 HD cameras and stands/HD Video Equipment and PC Computer/Monitors
  • Creates commercials/slides/creative to be incorporated into the HD video broadcast
  • Assists in player feature stories for social media and website throughout the season
  • Assists in producing promotional footage to help sell tickets
  • Assists with our end of season highlight video
  • Archives videos throughout the season
  • Assists in game day operations (Setup/Cleanup)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Basic understanding of Adobe Premier and Photoshop or similar software
  • Understanding of AV equipment - most specifically, a camera switcher, broadcast cameras and intercom systems
  • Have a positive attitude and provide a strong effort to succeed
  • Availability to work Rox home games, which includes some nights and weekends
  • Multi-task and effectively problem solve
  • Energetic "can-do" attitude
