This vital role is responsible for maintaining the high quality and safety of the ice surface for all games, practices, and events held at our arena. You will play a crucial part in ensuring a pristine playing environment for our athletes and an exceptional experience for our fans. This position requires physical stamina, precision, and a strong commitment to teamwork and safety. Responsibilities Perform pre-game, intermission, and post-game ice maintenance, including glass cleaning, shoveling, scraping, and flooding the ice surface Assist with the application of water and other treatments to maintain optimal ice conditions Operate the parade zam for fan rides during pre-game, intermissions, and post-game Opportunity to learn how to operate an ice resurfacer Identify and repair ice imperfections, divots, and cracks to ensure a smooth and safe playing surface Assist with the installation and removal of ice for the start and end of the season, as well as during arena conversions Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and operational procedures related to ice maintenance and equipment Work collaboratively with arena operations staff, game day personnel, and other crew members Assist with general arena setup and breakdown tasks as needed to support overall event operations Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding ice conditions, equipment status, and any issues Qualifications Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, including shoveling, lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods in a cold environment Comfortable working in cold temperatures and a loud arena environment for prolonged durations Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of ice quality Proven reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all workplace rules Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the event schedule Prior experience in ice maintenance, arena operations, or a similar physically demanding role is a plus, but not required Skating experience is preferred A passion for hockey and a desire to contribute to a successful team environment What You'll Gain Hands-on experience in professional arena operations and specialized ice maintenance Development of valuable skills in ice care, equipment operation, and teamwork Opportunity to work behind-the-scenes in a dynamic and fast-paced sports environment Opportunity for open ice time Contribution to player safety and the overall fan experience at Fargo Force games Networking opportunities within the sports and entertainment industry This job will also have the opportunity to work during the NCAA regionals at Scheels Arena in March 2027 We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
