Job Description
About the Role DSD Lighting & Events is looking for a dependable, hardworking, and motivated Assistant DJ & Event Production Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with experience in live event production who enjoys working behind the scenes to help deliver luxury weddings, private events, concerts, and corporate productions. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, be comfortable with physical labor, and possess a basic understanding of professional audio, lighting, and event production systems. Responsibilities Load, unload, transport, set up, and break down professional event equipment. Assist with DJ setup and operation during weddings and private events. Install and strike professional sound systems, subwoofers, speakers, microphones, and DJ booths. Assist with lighting setup, including uplighting, moving heads, trussing, pinspots, and other production elements. Perform roadie duties by organizing equipment, wrapping cables properly, and maintaining a clean and efficient workspace. Understand and assist with basic power distribution, signal flow, and audio wiring. Troubleshoot basic audio and lighting issues during events. Work closely with Lead DJs, MCs, planners, venues, and vendors to ensure smooth event execution. Maintain and care for company equipment. Qualifications Previous experience in live event production, AV, lighting, or audio preferred. Basic understanding of XLR, DMX, power, and audio cabling. Familiarity with professional speakers, mixers, microphones, and lighting equipment. Ability to safely lift and carry up to 75 lbs. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Experience Wedding or private event production. DJ equipment (Pioneer, Serato, Rekordbox, etc.). Audio mixers and wireless microphone systems. Intelligent lighting and DMX programming. Event staging and truss setup. General troubleshooting of production equipment. What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience.
