Cheesemonger

The Mystic Cheese Company is hiring a part-time cheese monger for local farmer's market to sell our selection of hand-crafted cheeses!

Position:

A typical day in this role starts with picking up the market display and cheese from our facility in Groton, traveling to the market/event site, setting up, selling cheese, packing up, and unloading the market items and any leftover cheese. You would need to be able to handle a cash register as well as operate the Square app on an I-pad. You will be using your vehicle and be reimbursed for milage at the Government issued rate.

Shifts:

Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6-8 hour shift 24 hours a week The ideal candidate should: Be able to lift up to 50 pounds safely. Be personable and punctual. Demonstrate ability to follow through on commitments. Show attention to detail and accuracy with transactions. Demonstrate a good attitude and takes initiative. Have a reliable vehicle--you may need to transport market displays each week, and will be reimbursed for mileage. Be on your feet for 5-6 hours. Specialty cheese knowledge is a plus!

Responsibilities:

Engage customers with correct information about products we offer and cheeses we produce. Accurately track sales and cash. Reliably staff markets throughout the summer and fall. Year-round opportunities available for the right candidates. Set up and take down market displays. Report on market activity. Track any repairs required for market setup.
