Job Description

Create Experiences Worth Remembering. Some people naturally know how to make others feel welcome. They love music. They enjoy being around people. They stay calm under pressure, communicate well, and genuinely care about creating great experiences. If that sounds like you, we'd love to meet you. At Uptown Entertainment, we're trusted with weddings, celebrations, corporate events, and once-in-a-lifetime moments. We believe our job is about much more than playing music—it's about creating memories our clients and their guests will never forget. No experience? That's okay. We'll teach you how to DJ. What we can't teach is kindness, professionalism, reliability, and the desire to serve others. Those qualities matter most to us. What You'll Do As an Uptown DJ, you'll be the face of our company on event day. You'll guide receptions, make announcements, coordinate with vendors, keep events flowing smoothly, and create an atmosphere where everyone feels included and has an incredible time. Every event is different, which means every weekend brings something new. You'll Thrive Here If You… Love being around people. Are confident, friendly, and approachable. Enjoy serving others. Communicate clearly and professionally. Stay calm when plans change. Are dependable and show up on time. Take pride in doing things the right way. Are coachable and eager to learn. Can lift and transport equipment (35-40 lbs.). Have reliable transportation. Are available to work evenings and weekends. This Probably Isn't the Right Fit If You… Frequently show up late. Prefer a Monday-Friday, 9-5 schedule. Don't enjoy interacting with people. Need constant supervision. Believe "good enough" is good enough. Why You'll Love Working Here Paid training—we'll teach the right person. Flexible, event-based scheduling. Great team culture built around professionalism, teamwork, and serving others. Opportunities to work weddings, corporate events, galas, school functions, and celebrations throughout the Upstate. Every event is unique, and every day is different. About Uptown We're a locally owned event company serving Greenville and the Upstate of South Carolina. We aren't corporate. We're a team of people who care deeply about our clients, our reputation, and each other. We work hard, have fun, and believe excellence is found in the little details that guests remember. If you're looking for more than just a weekend job—and want to be part of a team that creates unforgettable experiences—we'd love to hear from you.
