Job Description
The Sugar Land Space Cowboys are seeking a dynamic, engaging, professional On-Field Host (Emcee) to serve as an in-game host and fan ambassador during home games and special events. This prominent role is responsible for delivering an exciting, memorable, and family-friendly game experience by interacting with fans, announcing promotions, driving crowd engagement, and leading on-field contests. The ideal candidate is comfortable on a microphone, thrives in front of crowds, and embodies our team's brand and values with every interaction; knowing that they are one of the main faces of Constellation Field people will remember when considering future visits to our stadium. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-field host during all home games and select community or sponsor events.
- Execute live reads, promotional scripts, contest explanations, and sponsor announcements clearly and enthusiastically.
- Engage and hype the crowd, creating a fun, inclusive, and energetic environment throughout the ballpark.
- Conduct in-stand crowd interactions, interviews, and fan engagement moments.
- Introduce promotions, entertainment segments, and between-inning activities with confidence and professionalism.
- Coordinate closely with the Ballpark Entertainment, Promotions, Production, and Audio/Video teams to ensure smooth execution of all in-game elements.
- Represent the team brand in a positive, professional, and family-friendly manner at all times.
- Maintain a strong understanding of game flow, timing, and communication cues from game directors/producers.
- Assist with pregame, postgame, and occasional off-field sponsor or media activations as needed. Qualifications & Skills
- Prior experience in hosting, performing, acting, broadcasting, or public speaking preferred (sports, entertainment, theatre, or media experience a plus).
- Strong, confident microphone presence with the ability to project enthusiasm.
- Outgoing personality with the ability to interact comfortably with fans of all ages.
- Ability to memorize scripts, follow cues, and respond quickly to direction or unexpected changes.
- Professionalism, reliability, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, stand for extended periods, and move quickly around the ballpark.
- Must be available for nights, weekends, holidays, and the full home game schedule.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required. Ideal Candidate Attributes
