Company Description Terra Pixel delivers advanced Alternative Position Navigation and Timing (APNT) solutions that support precise and reliable aircraft navigation. The company focuses on enhancing situational awareness and safety in complex and GPS-challenged environments. Terra Pixel's technology is designed to integrate with modern aviation systems and support both commercial and defense applications. Team members collaborate across engineering, operations, and flight support to bring innovative navigation capabilities to market. Role Description This is a contract, hybrid Drone Pilot role based in the Washington DC-Baltimore area, with some work-from-home flexibility depending on project needs. The Drone Pilot will operate UAVs for test flights, data collection missions, and demonstration activities in support of Terra Pixel's APNT solutions. Responsibilities include planning and executing flight operations, conducting pre-flight and post-flight inspections, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining detailed flight logs and documentation. The role involves coordinating with engineering and product teams to support system testing, troubleshooting, and performance validation in the field. The Drone Pilot will also assist in refining operational procedures, supporting training activities, and ensuring compliance with applicable aviation regulations and company policies. Qualifications Proficiency in Drone Piloting and operating Drones safely and effectively in various environments. Hands-on experience with UAV platforms, including basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance. Solid Piloting skills, including mission planning, risk assessment, and airspace awareness. Ability to support Training activities, such as sharing best practices and helping onboard new operators. FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (or equivalent unmanned aircraft certification) strongly preferred. Familiarity with aviation safety procedures, checklists, and regulatory requirements. Comfort using mapping, mission-planning, and data capture software tools. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical teams. Willingness to travel within the Washington DC-Baltimore region and occasionally beyond for field operations. Ability to meet physical requirements of field work, including standing for extended periods and carrying equipment.
