Manager Social Editor#26-18404 $45-$50 per hour Culver city, CA Hybrid Job Description Our client, a Mass Media and Entertainment company, is looking for a Manager Social Editor for their Culver city, CA/Hybrid location.
Responsibilities:
Work across theatricals, acquisitions, cultural. The glue between the brand and titles. Will be managing 2 ppl, motion designer and jr editor. Will be reviewing their work. They will be doing some editing videos and helping to source editing inspo for the team Creating content Social Video and Content Strategy Lead the development of social-first creative strategies that build awareness, fandom, and engagement across entertainment programming and brand channels. Translate programming priorities into platform-native video concepts, social content series, and fan engagement moments. Concept and pitch original social content ideas, social formats, and content executions. Identify trends, formats, and real time opportunities to inform content direction. Balance always-on content, trend driven moments and campaign video support. Social Content Creation + Execution Maintain a high creative bar for video editing quality. Collaborate on the end-to-end creation of social video content from concept through post-production and publishing. Ensure content is tailored to platform specific formats, behaviors and best practices (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) Concept and oversee talent-driven social video content, ensuring alignment with programming tone, audience expectations, and platform best practices. Maintain a consistent brand voice and storytelling approach while adapting messaging to platform-specific formats and audience behaviors. Performance + Optimization Partner with social strategy team to monitor video performance and engagement trends to inform future content. Identify high-performing formats, editing styles, and storytelling approaches at scale. Continuously optimize content based on platform insights and audience behavior. Collaboration + Leadership Review and approve social assets and post copy prior to publishing to ensure accuracy, cultural relevance, and brand alignment.
Requirements:
As a Social Editor, you will play a key role in shaping social-first creative and culturally resonant content that connects premium entertainment programming with social audiences in a way that feels native to each platform. Working at the intersection of entertainment, culture, and digital storytelling, you will translate programming priorities into platform-native social content, fan engagement moments, and talent-driven video concepts that drive awareness, fandom, and audience growth. This role blends hands on video editing and production expertise with a strong understanding of what makes content perform, bringing entertainment brands and programming to life across social platforms. A strong understanding of what makes content perform across social platforms, across short form and long form video. Expertise in video editing, pacing, and storytelling for platform native formats. A deep understanding of how culture influences fan behavior and social storytelling. Experience guiding or providing feedback to editors and designers to elevate creative output. The ability to translate creative direction and programming priorities into engaging content. Awareness of creators, trends, and formats shaping entertainment conversations online. Curiosity about emerging trends, fandoms, creators, and platform behaviors + how to apply them to content. Are a self-starter who takes ownership and can lead projects from concept through execution. Think like a creative and editor, turning programming moments into engaging social content. Have strong instincts for what makes video content perform on social platforms. Are fluent in short form video trends, formats, and platform best practices. Love developing social-first creative ideas, talent-driven content, and fan engagement moments. Are obsessed with trailers, edits, pacing, trends, fandoms, and internet culture. Thrive in collaborative environments working with marketing teams, production partners, and talent teams. 5-7 years of experience in brand marketing, social media strategy, or creative content development, ideally within entertainment, media, sports or agency environments. Demonstrated experience developing social-first creative and culturally relevant content. Proven ability to concept and execute talent-driven social content in collaboration with production and marketing teams. Strong understanding of how content performs across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, X, and emerging platforms. Creative instincts with the ability to translate entertainment programming into engaging social-first content. A refined point of view on video editing including pacing, structure and storytelling. Deep interest in entertainment culture, fandom communities, and emerging creators. Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere Pro and Photoshop. Experience using social media publishing and analytics tools such as ListenFirst, Sprout, Sprinklr, Monday.com, Airtable, or Asana. Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders in fast-paced campaign environments. Experience working on entertainment brands, sports, streaming platforms, or media companies Familiarity with talent management workflows and on-set production processes Experience developing social-first video content or creative campaigns Background in social creative development or digital storytelling Comfort working within large, matrixed organizations Our Commitment We believe great storytelling connects audiences across cultures and communities.
