TelevisaUnivision is seeking a talented Assignment Editor/Producer to support the News team. This position is responsible for monitoring breaking news, developing story ideas, coordinating field coverage, and managing the logistics of live crews and daily news assignments. The Assignment Editor/Producer works closely with reporters, producers, photographers, and newsroom managers to identify and prioritize stories, gather information and video elements, and ensure timely and accurate coverage of developing and scheduled news events.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

+ Monitor local, national, and international news for developing and breaking news stories.

+ Research, develop, and pitch daily story ideas for news broadcasts.

+ Assign stories and provide reporters and field crews with the necessary information and resources.

+ Coordinate interviews, live shots, and field coverage for breaking news and planned events.

+ Maintain constant communication with reporters, producers, photographers, field crews, and external news agencies.

+ Verify information from multiple sources and assist in gathering video, feeds, and other elements needed for coverage.

+ Monitor social media and other digital platforms for potential news stories and breaking developments.

+ Work with reporters and producers to develop story concepts and coordinate the execution of news packages.

+ Assist with troubleshooting video feeds and other field-production needs.

+ Collaborate with other Assignment Editors and newsroom managers to prioritize coverage and allocate resources.

+ Support special news coverage and live programming as needed.

YOU HAVE

+ Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an Assignment Desk, newsroom, or similar news environment.

+ Strong knowledge of current events, local news, and breaking news coverage.

+ Proven experience sourcing and sharing news content through social media and digital platforms.

+ Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.

+ Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

+ Fluency in Spanish, including reading and writing.

+ Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

+ Ability to stand, walk, bend, type, and sit for extended periods, up to 8 hours. TelevisaUnivision is an equal opportunity employer.
