Job Description

France Media Inc. is seeking an Associate Editor for our print, website and e-newsletter titles. Duties of the Associate Editor include feature article writing; writing and editing daily news sections; editorial content strategy; proofreading, some layout (online and print), and newsletter article writing and production.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in journalism, English or related discipline is required. The ideal candidate will have some print and online writing/editing experience. Knowledge of business or real estate industries preferred, but not necessary. Applicants for Associate Editor should have at least 1 year of relevant experience, including internships and college coursework. While we have strong on-the-job training to facilitate understanding of the commercial real estate industry, we are looking for candidates who demonstrate solid reporting and writing skills, including: A curiosity about business and what drives activity; The ability to identify trends as well as anomalies and to dig for the deeper story; The flexibility to report from different economic perspectives, as required for different story formats; Dedication to providing accurate information; The desire to experiment with different ways to present information to best suit the needs of our readers . Skills required for this position include: Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong writing, editing and proofreading abilities. The ability to manage multiple tasks at one time. Experience with Adobe Indesign and Photoshop are beneficial, but not required. This is a full-time position based in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. Some overnight travel may be required. Candidates must reside in the Atlanta area. Candidates will be required to demonstrate their writing and editing skills during the interview process.
