The Assistant Video Editor supports the post-production team in organizing, preparing, and assembling media for a wide range of video projects (broadcast, streaming, digital, and social). This role ensures a smooth editorial workflow by managing assets and preparing projects for the Senior Editors. The AE will also assist with media asset delivery. Key Responsibilities Work closely with the Editors to organize media for edit.

Work closely with the Media Manager to log footage and all other media in a MAM.

Create and maintain project structures, bins, and metadata according to established post workflows. Create string-outs, radio edits, and selects reels as needed. Prepare multi-cam sequences and synchronize footage and audio

Build and refine rough cuts under the direction of Senior Editors or Producers. Prepare and hand off sequences for color grading and sound mixing.

Prepare and conform sequences for online/finishing, including relinking and media management. Assist with in-house graphics (e.g.: title, lower thirds, end-pages)

Prep and deliver final assets (masters, splits, textless, caption files, thumbnails) to internal systems or external partners. Media manage and archive completed projects

Collaborate with editors, producers, designers, and audio teams to keep projects on schedule. Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in video post-production (internships and freelance included) or equivalent training. Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere is required. Familiarity with After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, and MAM systems is highly preferred.

Thorough understanding of formats, codecs, frame rates, color spaces, and delivery specs for broadcast and digital platforms. Familiarity with shared storage, media management, and backup best practices. Experience with audio mixing and basic color correction preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in file naming, project structure, and version control. Ability to take direction, interpret edit notes accurately, and respond quickly to feedback. Comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment. Clear communicator who can proactively flag issues and propose solutions. Interest in storytelling, pacing, and visual language; willingness to grow into more senior editorial responsibilities over time.
