Job Description We are hiring a remote, on-demand/part-time Print Buyer position paid at a fixed hourly rate, with occasional onsite press checks, collaboration with the Troy office on select projects, and coordination with remote colleagues and print vendors. This position is responsible for managing the print production process from estimate through completion, including vendor sourcing and quality assurance. Serving as a vital link between the creative team and external print suppliers, this role requires strong print knowledge, project management skills, and attention to detail to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Scope of Work •Production Coordination:
Oversee print production processes from start to finish. This includes creating detailed project specifications, managing timelines and routing proofs between vendors and internal teams. •Vendor Communication:
Request quotes, issue purchase orders and track project status to ensure clear communication and timely delivery for assigned projects. •Quality Control:
Meticulously review proofs for accuracy, color consistency and overall quality. This role may attend press checks for assigned projects to provide on-site approval when applicable and guarantee that finished pieces meet project requirements. •File Preparation:
Collaborate with the design team to ensure all artwork files are correctly prepared for prepress, troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise. •Internal Collaboration:
Work closely with creative project manager and graphic designer to understand the print requirements for assigned projects. Offer guidance on technical feasibility, material options and finishing processes to achieve the desired outcome. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities •Technical Print Expertise:
Deep understanding of print technologies (digital, offset, large format), color management, paper/substrate specifications, finishing techniques and prepress workflows •Software Proficiency:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel for cost analysis and PowerPoint). Experience with ERP systems is highly beneficial •Financial Acumen:
Strong skills in cost analysis, budget management and negotiation. Ability to analyze estimates and invoices to ensure financial accuracy •Project Management:
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines within assigned projects •Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical print requirements to non-technical stakeholders •Education:
Certification in Print Management or a related field required; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Bachelor's degree in related field a plus •Experience:
Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in print production, print buying or a print shop/production environment •Print Technology:
Solid understanding of digital, offset and large-format printing processes, as well as prepress, paper types and various finishing techniques •Software Proficiency:

Clear and effective communication skills are necessary for collaborating with internal teams and providing precise instructions to external vendors •Experience:
Requires hands-on experience in a print production environment, print buying role, or a closely related field •Collaboration:
Works seamlessly across departments, translating creative visions into practical production plans.
