Documentary editor Share via: facebook x linkedin email Philadelphia , Pennsylvania Hybrid Position Post Production - Editing, Compositing, Motion Graphics, & Visual Effects Contracted LaVelle Productions Apply to Job We are seeking an experienced documentary editor with a strong narrative sense and a keen editorial eye. This project is an NBA focused documentary with themes centered around mental health, requiring sensitivity, structure, and strong storytelling clarity. The editor will be responsible for working from an existing assembly cut and helping reshape the narrative into a more cohesive and engaging storyline based on provided notes and direction. This includes tightening pacing, improving structure, and elevating emotional flow while maintaining the integrity of the footage. The ideal candidate is highly detail oriented, responsive to feedback, and comfortable collaborating in a fast paced production environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to execute notes efficiently and accurately are essential. Responsibilities also include organizing and helping establish a structured asset management system for new and existing footage, ensuring all materials are clearly labeled and easily accessible for ongoing post production. We are looking for someone experienced in documentary editing who can bring both technical skill and storytelling intuition to the project while working efficiently and meeting deadlines. Please email if interested. info.lavelleproductions@gmail.com Please CC samanthafonseca863@yahoo.com Experience / Skills Highly experienced in documentary or long form editing (5 plus years preferred) Strong narrative storytelling and story structure development Expert level pacing and sequencing of complex footage Ability to work from assembly cuts and restructure full narratives Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail Ability to take direction and implement notes efficiently Experience working on sports documentary or character driven storytelling preferred Comfortable working with emotionally sensitive subject matter such as mental health Highly proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator (for graphics collaboration and asset integration) Experience managing and organizing large media asset libraries Strong communication and collaboration skills in production environments Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently under time constraints Report Job × Is there something wrong with this Job?
